This small farm offers Canaan fir, Norway spruce, Blue spruce, and Concolor fir for sale beginning in late November. Stop by early in the season before their limited supply sells out.
Country Loving Christmas Tree Farm | 40856 Red Hill Road, Leesburg
Sitting around 40 minutes from Old Town Fairfax, Country Loving Christmas Tree Farm opens seasonally beginning mid-November. The family-owned farm allows customers to pick and cut a Scotch pine, White pine, or Norway spruce to take home for Christmas. Leashed dogs are allowed on the farm, so you can bring the whole family along for the holiday experience.
Evergreen Acres | 12801 Hazelwood Drive, Nokesville
After picking your favorite Norway spruce or White pine to cut and take home, Evergreen Acres employees help shake and net your tree. Along with a wagon to transport your chopped tree and twine to tie to your vehicle, the farm provides complementary hot mulled cider to help warm up after the tree-picking experience. Stop by Cedar Run Brewery on the property for a beer or two after picking your perfect tree.
Hank’s Christmas Trees at Hartland Farm | 3205 Hartland Lane, Markham
Along with choosing and cutting the perfect Fraser fir, Douglas fir, Blue spruce, White pine, Leyland cypress, or Arizona cypress, Hank’s Christmas Trees at Hartland Farm offers pre-cut Fraser firs up to 10 feet tall. Staff help cut, shake, bale, and tie your tree to your car. Hot cider, smashburgers, and grilled cheese sandwiches are for sale on the weekends, along with complimentary hot chocolate. For family holiday fun, take a ride on Santa’s Magical Holiday Train through the trees and around the farm, stopping to visit Santa and tell him your Christmas wishlist.
Loudoun Nursery | 16463 Short Hill Road, Purcellville
This Purcellville farm has been growing Christmas trees since the early 1970s, and plants over 1,000 trees each year to reach its 15,000-tree capacity. There is a limited supply of Colorado blue spruce, Norway spruce, Concolor fir, Canaan fir, Korean fir, and Arizona corkbark fir. The farm opens for the season in late November and allows leashed dogs to accompany families on their pick-and-cut experience.
Middleburg Christmas Tree Farm | 20555 Unison Road, Round Hill
About an hour outside of Old Town Fairfax, this Round Hill farm grows Norway spruce and Concolor fir trees for the picking. Staff provide the saws, carts, twine, and baling for each tree picked. Stop by early in the season before their limited inventory runs out, and pack a lunch to enjoy at the picnic tables on the property after picking your favorite tree. Don’t forget to stop by an ATM beforehand, because this is a cash-only farm.
Milltown Creek Tree Farms | 38757 Householder Road, Lovettsville
Pick from Blue spruce, Meyer spruce, White spruce, Douglas fir, Concolor fir, Scotch pine, and White pine at this family-owned farm about an hour outside of Fairfax. Along with the choose-and-cut trees available, Milltown also offers pre-cut trees and handmade wreaths. Stop by the Christmas shop to browse tree stands and handmade ornaments while sipping hot cider, but bring cash or check as those are the only payment methods accepted.
Moose Apple Christmas Tree Farm | 2425 Wickliffe Road, Berryville

For those extra busy before the holidays, this 33-acre farm offers pre-tagging early in the season. Claim and tag one of the over 25,000 trees on the property, and come back closer to Christmas to chop it down and take it home. Handsaws and sleds are provided, and each tree is shaken, drilled for a tree stand, and baled before the staff helps you tie it to your vehicle. Pick up some holiday decorations and local artisan goods from the Christmas shop on the farm.
Snead’s Asparagus Farm | 18294 Tidewater Trail, Fredericksburg
See-saws, swings, log cabin playhouses, slides, and picnic areas make the longer drive to this Fredericksburg farm worth it. Guests can pick and cut their own Blue spruce or White pine before checking out the small museum and hiking trails on the property. Stop by the farm stand by the entrance of the farm to check out seasonal produce.

This family-owned farm has been operating for nearly 45 years, with over 36,000 trees across the property in various stages of growth. Some of the Douglas fir and Colorado blue spruce trees grow over 9 feet tall. Stop by the Snack Shack for a hot dog, soft pretzel, hot chocolate, cider, peanuts, and more. After choosing and cutting the perfect tree, guests can check out Christmas decorations like daily-made wreaths at the sales barn.
