Since 2012, Svetlana Zakharina has been the owner of Aleana’s Bridal in Paramus. The boutique offers a selection of bridal designers such as Demetrios, Rebecca Ingram, Casablanca, Pronovias, and five exclusive collections. The shop also offers a curated collection of designs for the mother-of-the-bride and groom.

Aya Flex Studio | 38 North Washington Avenue, Bergenfield

Aya Flex Studio is owned and operated by Jasmine. The yoga and wellness studio offers social events, classes, and studio rental opportunities.

Bergen Coffee Roasters | 20 Sheridan Avenue, Ho-Ho-Kus 

Hannah Lee opened Bergen Coffee Roasters, a Ho-Ho-Kus-based spot. Guests can enjoy fresh-brewed drinks and lattes along with a selection of pastries and baked goods from Balthazar Bakery. With indoor and outdoor seating, this is a great spot to catch up with friends or work remotely

Canterly Place

Black Magic Bake House | 19 West Ridgewood Avenue, Ridgewood

Deanne Veliky officially opened the Black Magic Bake House storefront in March 2024, but the operation’s roots go back to 2018. With an ever-evolving menu, pastry connoisseurs can try a variety of items like coconut cream cruffins, chocolate babka, banana bread, Thai tea custard tarts, and more doughnut combinations than one can think of. This spot is open Thursday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to sell out, and BG thinks it’s worth getting there on the early side, so as not to miss the limited quantity delights. 

Bronze Aire | 15 Broadway, Cresskill

Bronze Aire provides custom airbrush sprays and red light therapy.

Cupcake Carriage offers a mobile bakery for events like Sweet Sixteens, fundraising, and corporate branding events. The spot also offers retail orders and custom cakes and cupcakes.

Embroidery Babes | Bergen County 

Michelle, the founder of Embroidery Babes, embarked on this journey after her daughter was born through IVF, and she developed an addiction to embroidery. Embroidery Babes hosts events at various local Bergen County shops, restaurants, and other venues. 

Erie Coffeeshop + Bakery | 10 Franklin Place, Rutherford

Renee Faris owns and operates Erie Coffeeshop & Bakery in Rutherford. The bakery menu showcases fresh-baked goods like Blueberry Crumb Muffins, Olive Oil Citrus Cakes, Pistachio Lemon Cheesecake, Lemon Poppy Cakes, and Bourekas. There is also a cake menu that changes seasonally. 

Femme | 34 Commerce Way, Hackensack

Femme is a female-owned and staffed gym in Hackensack that serves an all-female clientele. The spot offers personal training and classes like Zumba, yoga, barre, pilates, and HIIT. There is also a 6,000 square foot gym equipped with free weights, cable machines, smith machines, leg presses, treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, and stair masters.

At Furry Tales, services are provided by highly skilled professionals who have a deep appreciation for working to help animals + people alike. 

Friends Dog Boarding Training + Daycare Facility | Norwood 

Olive is the founder of Friends Dog Boarding Training + Daycare Facility located in Norwood.

Gather Create Nourish + The Tile Society | Bergen County 

Erika Palmer is the founder of Gather Create Nourish, a wellness brand rooted in helping women create lasting habits that nourish the mind, body, and soul. Erika also operates The Mahjong League of New Jersey, New Jersey’s first organized Mahjong league, which launched its inaugural season in January with 112 women participating across multiple leagues.

Giovanna’s Cafe | 19 East Main Street, Ramsey

Giovanna’s Cafe is an Italian-American cafe by Giovanna Germinario serving Ramsey since 2014. Every dish, like the Giambotta and Grilled Chicken Ciabatta Sandwich, is made from scratch. The cafe also offers catering and gluten-free options.

Half Baked | 107 Miller Road, Mahwah

Christina Carlino launched Half Baked in July 2025. Her shop features an assortment of cookies known as “Chonkers,” available in classic, filled + fancy, and gluten-free flavors. She graduated from the Institute of Culinary Education with a focus in Pastry and Restaurant Management, and has worked across bakeries, restaurants, resorts, and both digital and print food media in the US and Germany. 

Honey Bakery | 223 Chestnut Street, Ridgewood

Zara Khayatian runs Honey Bakery, a Persian pastry shop offering fresh-baked goods. Her menu showcases rice cookies, walnut cookies, chickpea cookies, Baklava, and a variety of other sweets.

Humphreys Coffee | 160 Terrace Street, Suite 1, Haworth

Humphreys Coffee is owned and operated by Emma Karach and named after her mischievous childhood Beagle. The shop sells Parlor Coffee, based out of Brooklyn, and baked goods from Balthazar Bakery in Englewood.

Jerk’d | 363 Essex Street, Hackensack

In 2019, Marva Layne opened Jerk’d in Hackensack, but this was not her first restaurant business. In the 1980s, she opened a bakery and currently has two other restaurants in Atlanta and Manhattan. Jerk’d is her first New Jersey venture. Her menu features bowls and sweets, and soon will have plates inspired by Caribbean cuisine. 

Kayla Sellitto Artistry | 144 Broadway, Hillsdale

Kayla Sellitto is the owner and operator of Kayla Sellitto Artistry, a bridal makeup business where she strives to make brides radiant, confident, and beautiful on their special day. Kayla also offers makeup for photo shoots, event makeup, or just a great night out.

The Little Kitchen | 875 NJ-17, Suite 6, Ramsey

At The Little Kitchen, Chef Adrienne has fresh takes on soup, salad, and sandwiches. Visitors can walk into the Ramsey location and choose lunch or dinner from the case, or order family meals ahead for a homemade dinner without the hassle.

Lulu and Bo Boutique | 105 Godwin Avenue, Suite 21, Midland Park

Lulu and Bo Boutique was founded by two sisters, Erica Thomas and Miriam Steketee, who grew up in Wyckoff.  Erica and Miriam named the spot for their parents, Lucy and Boris Kushnir. The shop was born from the sisters’ desire to offer women a one-stop shop for versatile, high-quality styles—from casual weekends to elegant evenings.

Lusso by Lisa + Lusso by Lisa Vintage | Bergen County 

Through Lusso by Lisa, the founder Lisa focuses on sourcing brand-new designer items below retail from top retailers + boutiques, curating vintage handbags, blazers, + statement pieces from major fashion houses, styling “powerhouse” wardrobe staples that help women feel confident, and provides private sourcing services for clients seeking hard-to-find luxury items.

In 2019, Lynn Bello opened Mindful Cafe to provide her community with a space offering healthy, organic, and non-GMO food. The menu has soups, salad, sandwiches, bowls, smoothies, a plethora of gluten-free baked goods, coffee, and tea.

NSU Water Depot | 463 Passaic Street, Hackensack 

NSU Water Depot is a source for premium water purification in Hackensack. NSU is a black + woman-owned business committed to delivering the highest quality purified and alkaline water to the Bergen County community.

OHM Fitness | 301 N Harrison Street, Suite 315, Princeton

OHM Fitness Opens is run by John and Janet Mok, a husband and wife team. The spot offers Sculpt + Sweat, Stretch + Flow, and Strong Vibrations classes.

Olive R Twist Olive Oil Company | 34 Wilsey Square, Ridgewood

In 2018, Andrea Volter and Marianne Krantz founded Olive R Twist Olive Oil Company to bring the highest quality olive oils and finest balsamic vinegars to their community. The spot’s “tasting room” model allows visitors to sample olive oils from all over the world and balsamic vinegars from Modena, Italy.

PlatedbyD was born during the COVID-19 quarantine. Dylan Elias opened her storefront in Riverside Square Mall in Hackensack in September 2023. Visitors can create their own charcuterie board, and catering is available for events.

Meyers and Meyers Notary provides virtual notary services 24/7, allowing clients to sign documents from the comfort of their own homes.

Soma Cafe + Creperie | 41 West Prospect Street, Waldwick

Soma Cafe + Creperie is owned by Macedonian immigrant Marija Nedelkoski. Marija uses a special machine from Europe to make her star menu item, crepes. This is not the only thing on the menu; there is a variety of other dishes to choose from, too. The drink menu features coffee, lattes, frappes, tea, and smoothies. For a larger meal, this spot also has omelettes, yogurt bowls, pancakes, salads, and sandwiches.

Sook | 24-26 South Broad Street, Ridgewood

Keum Park Sook has always had an affinity for baking and studied it at the Institute of Culinary Education and the French Culinary Institute. The menu at her Ridgewood bakery features a variety of French pastries and cakes like Macarons, Madeleines, Éclairs, Croissants, and Kouign Amann.

Stephanie Spirou is the owner of Steph Spirou Photography, based in Waldwick. Stephanie is a photographer who captures meaningful moments that families can treasure for years. She specializes in maternity, newborn, and family photography.
