Brooke Stewart One of Rutherford’s newest additions is Tenmomi Ramen, located at the Williams Center, 5 Sylvan Street. Chef KC Gonzalez is making the move to Rutherford after popping up throughout Northern New Jersey at different markets and special events. From the moment you walk through the door, Tenmomi feels welcoming, and guests are often greeted by the chef. Chef KC Gonzales takes a lot of pride in what he serves, and after hearing him talk about the menu, it’s easy to tell he is passionate about doing things the right way. KC explained that “Everything is made in-house, which is something you don’t always see at ramen restaurants.” From the broth to the toppings, the level of flavor really shows the time and effort put into each dish.
One of the most unique parts of Tenmomi is the atmosphere. As soon as you walk in, the arcade games and cinema area stand out. This isn’t something you typically see in a restaurant, and it adds a fun, interactive element to the space. The arcade setup gives customers something to do while waiting for their food or just spending time with friends, while the cinema-style viewing area creates a relaxed, laid-back vibe.

The films playing lean toward classics, including Tampopo, The Conversation, Do the Right Thing, and Psycho, which adds to the overall experience. The idea that you can sit down, enjoy a bowl of ramen, and watch a movie at the same time makes it easy to see this becoming a fun date night spot or a go-to for a casual night out in town. This is definitely more of a casual spot as you have to go to the counter to order and then grab a seat.
What to Expect
One important thing to note is that Tenmomi is strictly focused on ramen and food; there is no bar component here. The focus stays on quality dishes and a well-rounded dining experience. When it comes to the menu, there are plenty of options to choose from. While ramen is the main focus, the menu also includes burgers, chicken, fries, and vegetables, offering options for a variety of tastes.
From the Bergen County Girl experience, some standout items include the loaded fries, which are packed with seasoned ground beef and melted cheese, making them incredibly flavorful and something worth ordering again. The signature tonkotsu ramen is another must-try, described as a “9-day pork bone soup, smooth and silky.” Chef KC explained that he is “very proud of this bowl,” making it one of his personal favorites.

Chef KC also shared that “it can actually be difficult to find house-made ramen because many restaurants advertise it that way, but in reality, a lot of their ingredients come pre-packaged. At Tenmomi, the goal is authenticity and quality,” which is what really helps set this spot apart.
For Rutherford locals, this is the kind of place that brings something new and exciting to the neighborhood. Between the homemade ramen, the unique arcade and movie setup, and the welcoming atmosphere, it offers more than just a typical dining experience. It’s easy to see why nearby residents would be excited to have a spot like this right in town.
Tenmomi is open Monday through Saturday from 11AM to 10PMand Sundays from 6PM to 10:00PM.
