Like much of Bergen County, Edgewater is a diverse culinary hub boasting flavors from around the world, and, as of August 5th, 2025, it’s home to a new Turkish-inspired bakery. Crossing county lines, Baklava Home, a Paterson-based dessert, coffee, and breakfast spot, has opened its second outpost at 880 River Road No 102. About Baklava Home
Baklava Home has served Paterson locals at 1022 Main Street with Turkish-inspired desserts, coffee, breakfast, and more since its initial debut in June 2023. In late July 2025, the spot began teasing the Bergen County foodie community with talks of an expansion to Edgewater. And now, as of August 5th, 2025, Baklava Home’s second outpost has officially opened, promising “new dishes,” but the “same Baklava Home soul,” per an Instagram post.

At Baklava Home, diners can find lattes, milkshakes, tea, croissants, omelets, poached egg dishes, rice pudding, Turkish delights, acma pastries, and, of course, baklava, which comes in flavors like pistachio, carrot, chocolate, and more.

The biggest draw to this spot, though, is its dessert offerings, which includes options like Dubai Cheesecake, a Middle Eastern twist on the classic cheesecake featuring a buttery graham cracker crust and a drizzle of honey, as well as the Mosaic Cake, “a visually stunning and creatively crafted dessert that resembles a colorful mosaic artwork,” made with layers of differently colored and flavored biscuits, per its website.

Along with Middle Eastern eats, Baklava Home also provides a grocery section, selling products like spices, boxed tea, and coffee grounds.
Baklava Home is the newest addition to Bergen County’s foodie scene. Another dessert spot, Half Baked, opened its first brick-and-mortar location in Mahwah this past July, and new bar and restaurant The Union Bar + Provisions plans to open in East Rutherford on August 8th.
