We are SO back. With MDW firmly in the rearview mirror, the season is officially underway at the Jersey Shore. We’re adding a weekly news roundup to keep you up to speed on everything that happens DTS. Among the highlights this week: TikTok-trendy Dot Cakes have made their way to the Shore; several new restaurants have opened in time for the season; and a beloved local bartender is remembered.

La Costa, a new tropical-inspired cafe in Lavallette, is serving canned coffees, dirty sodas, bagels, and other beach-day breakfast staples (The Jersey Shore Girl).

– South Jersey designer Sean Kelly’s coastal lifestyle and interior design brand DUNE opened a flagship store in North Wildwood (Jersey Digs).

– Tourism experts said high gas prices and inflation may also help Atlantic City attract budget-conscious travelers staying closer to home (CDC Gaming).

Pablo, a new American-Mexican fusion restaurant in Somers Point, celebrated its grand opening (@pablosomerspoint via TikTok). 

Normandy Beach is getting five new food spots for summer 2026, including a smoothie shop, raw bar, vegan bakery, cafe, and refreshed market concept (The Jersey Shore Girl).

Dave Quisumbing, a bartender at Bar A and several other Jersey Shore +  Hoboken bars, was memorialized at Bar A following his untimely passing (@bernardquisumbing via Instagram). 

– Another new Jersey Shore biz: Gourmand opened in Point Pleasant Beach with a dinner-focused menu, chef’s table experience, private dining room, and globally influenced dishes (The Jersey Shore Girl).

– Two new restaurants, Chef Mike’s Legacy and Pelicans Wharf, are coming to Seaside Heights this summer (The Jersey Shore Girl).
