According to a recent clip and report from 105.7 The Hawk, Salty Dick’s Kitchen + Piano Bar is in the works along Route 35 North in Ortley Beach. The concept appears to be taking over a smaller building that is undergoing a full transformation.

The goal for Salty Dick’s Kitchen + Piano Bar is to create a welcoming, laid-back space where locals and visitors can stop by for drinks, food, and live entertainment. The concept leans into that classic Jersey Shore energy, complete with talk of a “no shower happy hour” that fits right into a post-beach kind of night. The space at 1904 Route 35 North in Ortley Beach is a former laundromat that has been vacant since Hurricane Sandy, making this transformation feel like a full-circle moment for the area and a fresh start for a long-quiet spot along Route 35.
The project is being brought to life by local entrepreneur Richard Sullivan, according to the report from 105.7 The Hawk. Richard has reportedly been working on the concept for more than four years and hopes to create a place where the community can gather, feel at home, and enjoy cold drinks, good food, and live music. Richard Sullivan is also behind Ricky Bagels in Toms River and Angelina’s Italian Market in Lavallette.
