A Bergen County hospital recently received a major recognition. Englewood Hospital was named the #2 hospital in all of New Jersey, as well as the #1 in Bergen County, by Newsweek in its 2026 Best-In-State Hospitals list. Newsweek’s “America’s Best In-State Hospitals 2026” was recently released, which includes a ranking of hospitals for each of the 50 states. In Bergen County, Englewood Hospital comes in at #1 in the county, and #2 in the state.

Per a press release, the recognition follows a comprehensive evaluation conducted by Newsweek in partnership with consumer data company Statista. The analysis assessed hospitals nationwide based on quality of care, patient outcomes, and safety. For this year’s rankings, 800 of the United States’ top hospitals were assessed.
The rankings are based on four key measures that “reflect what matters most to patients,” including quality of care, reputation, patient experience, and patient-reported outcomes.

- #6: Saint Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick
- #7: Cooper University Hospital, Camden
- #8: Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center, Plainsboro
- #9: Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch
- #10: The Valley Hospital, Paramus
- #11: Holy Name Medical Center, Teaneck
