Sprouts Farmers Market is a grocery chain known for its selection of fresh produce, natural + organic foods, prepared foods, and other products. The Phoenix-based company has been expanding its footprint in New Jersey in recent years. Current Garden State locations include Aberdeen, East Windsor, Haddon Township, Marlton, Sewell, West Deptford, and Woodbridge.

The proposed Sprouts location is at 3 Main Street in Edgewater, in a commercial space formerly occupied by HomeGoods. If the plans move forward, Sprouts would become another new grocery option for Edgewater residents. Just a few weeks earlier, ShopRite of Edgewater Commons opened at 481 River Road. That supermarket replaced the former ACME.

The additional grocery options come as Edgewater continues to grow as a residential community along the Hudson River, with new and existing apartment developments adding more residents to the borough and increasing demand for nearby shopping, dining, and everyday services.
This Would Be Sprouts’ First Bergen County Location
If the Edgewater store moves forward, it would mark Sprouts Farmers Market’s first Bergen County location. The company’s current New Jersey store directory does not list any existing stores in Bergen County. Sprouts has continued expanding throughout New Jersey, including recent openings in Woodbridge and Sewell. The potential Edgewater location would bring the grocery chain farther into North Jersey and give Bergen County shoppers their first Sprouts close to home.

While the Edgewater location is not yet listed on Sprouts Farmers Market’s website, reports from Boozy Burbs, along with photos showing Sprouts signage at the property, indicate that plans for the store appear to be moving forward.
