About Founder Kyle Page

plan your visit

For founder + CEO Kyle Page, East Coasting’s mission is personal. Kyle Page is a New Jersey social equity license holder and cannabis incarceration activist whose work in the industry grew out of his own experience with cannabis prohibition.

In 2016, Kyle was incarcerated as a result of cannabis prohibition-era enforcement and later turned that experience into advocacy. He has since focused on helping build a more inclusive cannabis industry and supporting people still affected by cannabis-related convictions.

Kyle has worked with the Last Prisoner Project and become a vocal advocate for those still imprisoned for cannabis-related offenses. He has also worked with cultivation teams and helped open + manage licensed dispensaries throughout New Jersey. Alongside fellow advocate Donte Westmoreland, Kyle co-founded Forgotten Prisoner, a nonprofit focused on freeing cannabis prisoners + advancing cannabis reform.

Although Forgotten Prisoner is in its infancy, the team has already been victorious in getting professional basketball player Jarred Shaw cleared from execution in Indonesia. Shaw, while playing in an international circuit, was charged with possession of cannabis in a no-tolerance country.
