Four Jersey Shore businesses are preparing to close this fall. Beach Bee Meadery, The Hardware Store of Asbury Park, Mutiny Beach, and Kimchi Mama are all reportedly closing their doors soon. While the circumstances surrounding each business differ, the changes mark a shift in The Shore’s local business landscape. Here’s what we know.
Beach Bee Meadery
Beach Bee Meadery, which sells cider, mead, and gifts at 89 Long Branch Avenue in Long Branch, announced on social media on October 16th that it will close at the end of 2026. The business has been a popular spot for Jersey Shore locals and tourists alike to sip cider and mead for the last seven years.

“We’ll truly miss sharing laughs, raising glasses, and making memories with you, our extended Beach Bee family,” said a statement posted to Beach Bee’s social media. “This journey has been more incredible than we ever imagined and it’s all thanks to your loyal support. Since opening our doors in December 2019, Beach Bee has been so much more than a place to enjoy a glass of cider or mead. It’s been about flights and slushies, girls’ nights and guys’ nights, date nights, celebrations, fun events, new friendships, and countless memories. Most of all, it’s been about the amazing people who have made this community so special.”
The owners of Beach Bee Meadery have not publicly announced the reason for the closure at this time.
The Hardware Store of Asbury Park
According to an October 16th Instagram post from This Week in Asbury Park, The Hardware Store of Asbury Park, located at 428 Main Street, is reportedly closing after approximately 40 years in business.

The independent hardware store has long served local residents looking for tools, paint, and building supplies. Additional offerings include propane exchange, key cutting, glass cutting, and screen repair. The store has also built a reputation for its knowledgeable staff and personalized customer service.

According to Compass, the property sold in July 2026 for nearly $1.5 million. The store’s final day of business and the reason for its reported closure have not been confirmed. Additional details may become available as the businesses share further updates.
Mutiny Beach
Mutiny Beach, the barbecue-inspired bar and grill inside Convention Hall at 1300 Ocean Avenue, has closed, according to a Facebook post from the company. The seasonal spot was open for just two summers.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closure of Mutiny Beach,” the Facebook post said. “We’d like to thank our amazing staff and wonderful clientele for two fantastic seasons of food, drinks, music, and fun here in Convention Hall. We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to serve you.”
The boardwalk spot was an extension of Mutiny BBQ Company, the Asbury Park smokehouse known for its small-batch barbecue inspired by regional Southern cooking styles. Mutiny Beach brought that concept to the waterfront with a menu of barbecue favorites and a bar-and-grill atmosphere. The restaurant also hosted seasonal events.
The original Mutiny BBQ Company location at 808 Fifth Avenue in Asbury Park will remain open. According to the company, the space formerly occupied by Mutiny Beach will host pop-ups and special events, with additional details to come.
Kimchi Mama
Kimchi Mama, the family-owned Korean restaurant at 504 Main Street in Asbury Park, is preparing to leave its current location. In an October 18th Instagram post, the restaurant announced that its Jersey Shore location will close on November 25th. The restaurant brought its Korean comfort food to Asbury Park after relocating from North Jersey in 2022. Details about its next location have not yet been announced.

“As we prepare for our next chapter, our hearts are full of gratitude for our Asbury Park community,” said the Instagram post. “Thank you for welcoming Kimchi Mama and Kimchi Papa, supporting our little restaurant, and making our time here so so special.”
According to its website, the restaurant’s menu features Korean favorites such as bibimbap, bulgogi, Korean barbecue, kimchi fried rice, japchae, and double-fried Korean chicken wings. Its Asbury Park location offers dine-in service alongside takeout, delivery, and catering.

Before arriving in Asbury Park, Kimchi Mama operated a takeout restaurant in Fair Lawn, where the business first opened in 2016. Its move to the Shore gave the family-owned business a larger space where customers could sit down and enjoy their meals.
Representatives from The Hardware Store of Asbury Park, Mutiny Beach, and Kimchi Mama did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
