Tim Hortons first opened its doors in 1964 in Hamilton, Ontario, and has been winning over Canadians ever since with its popular Original Blend coffee, double-doubles, donuts, and Timbits, becoming a staple of Canadian culture. Two decades later, the chain expanded to the United States and now has nearly 700 locations.

Tim Hortons has more than 1,500 restaurant owners across Canada and employs over 100,000 people. Part of the company’s mission is giving back to the communities it serves, which is why it donates more than $60 million annually to organizations and initiatives throughout Canada, including Timbits Sports and the Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.
The chain also partners with local coffee farmers to help improve their livelihoods through the Tims Coffee for Communities program, which provides training and support from coffee experts.
In addition to coffee, they serve items such as avocado toast, bagels, sandwiches, and wraps, along with a variety of baked goods, including muffins and cookies. But what they’re really known for (food-wise) is their wide selection of Timbits and donuts.
New Location in Montvale
Montvale will soon get a taste of Canada as Tim Hortons was approved to open at 128 Chestnut Ridge Road, joining just over a dozen locations in New Jersey.
The Borough of Montvale Planning Board approved a use permit for a new Tim Horton’s location during its April 21st meeting. There is no official opening date yet.
