Paramus is set to welcome a new Raising Cane’s, bringing its classic Southern-style chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, and Texas toast to North Jersey. Information has yet to be released on an opening date, but the fast-food chain will be located at 55 East Route 4 in Paramus. Read on for the latest about the Raising Cane’s opening in Paramus.
What Is Raising Cane’s?
Raising Cane’s is a Louisiana-based restaurant chain that specializes in chicken fingers and its signature Cane’s dipping sauce.
It all started when founder Todd Graves made a proposal to his college professor to start a restaurant that only served chicken fingers. He received the lowest grade in the class because the professor believed it would fail. While trying to get loans for the business plan, the banks also rejected Todd’s idea.

However, after a year of working as a boilermaker and then a fisherman, Todd received a small business loan and began to build his restaurant. The first location opened in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1996 at the North Gates of Louisiana State University.
Following years of success, Raising Cane’s now has around 988 locations nationwide.
Coming to New Jersey
New Jersey is home to eight operating Raising Cane’s restaurants, with additional sites coming to Linden and Brick Township. Raising Cane’s locations in New Jersey include Burlington, Cherry Hill, Deptford, Edison, Fairfield, Glassboro, Marlton, and Turnersville.
The Paramus restaurant will be the first Raising Cane’s in Bergen County and will join Fairfield and the upcoming Linden location as the chain continues expanding across North Jersey.
What We Know About the Paramus Location
Raising Cane’s is taking over the building that used to house furniture store Stickley, which has now relocated to the Paramus Design Center on Route 17. A limited liability franchise associated with the chicken company recently bought the two properties at this location. The sale totaled $7.1 million for the two properties, which span about 1.72 acres, according to LoopNet.

In addition to made-to-order chicken tenders, Raising Cane’s has a selection of coleslaw, Texas toast, crinkle-cut fries, and chicken finger sandwiches. Groups can order a tailgate special that offers up to 100 chicken fingers with the signature Cane’s dipping sauce.
