Bergen County foodies always have a reason to smile, with the area regularly welcoming new restaurants. The latest is Joe Thai Kitchen, a Thai restaurant at 99 West Allendale Avenue in Allendale. Led by the team behind Wyckoff Thai, this eatery takes over the former space of Uno Mas, a neighborhood favorite Mexican restaurant that closed in April 2026. Joe Thai Kitchen features plenty of traditional Thai flavors, including fried rice, curry, and noodle-based dishes. Joe Thai Kitchen is a new restaurant from the same team as Wyckoff Thai, a local Bergen County favorite. The restaurant celebrated its grand opening on Thursday, October 15th, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and plenty of support from residents. It takes over the space of Uno Mas, a longtime favorite Mexican restaurant that closed its doors in April 2026.
According to its website, Joe Thai Kitchen features a menu that has a focus on fresh ingredients and bold Thai flavors in each dish. Customers can expect a wide variety of dishes at the restaurant, including fried rice, curry, and noodle-based dishes with chicken, vegetable, beef, shrimp, squid, tofu, or duck. There are also popular appetizer dishes, such as spring rolls, curry puffs, and golden fritters. Joe Thai Kitchen is also home to plenty of signature dishes, such as Pla Kamin (whole-fried branzino), Hot Basil Steak, and Crab Curry.

Joe Thai Kitchen’s menu also features select dishes that can be prepared gluten-free, including its curries, Pad Thai, summer rolls, and chicken satay. For the Pad Thai and summer rolls, be sure to specifically request the gluten-free version. There are also lunch specials from Monday to Friday, 11:30AM to 3PM, with options including fried rice, noodle dishes, + meat entrées served with soup or salad. Joe Thai Kitchen provides both dine-in and takeout meals and is BYOB, although it also has a mocktail menu.
