Jim Dandy’s in Rutherford Is Closing After 40 Years

A long-loved Bergen County restaurant is saying goodbye. Jim Dandy’s, located at 102 Park Avenue in Rutherford, announced on Tuesday night that it will close at the end of the day on Sunday, June 28th, 2026.  The good news for local fans: Jim Dandy’s is not disappearing completely, as its sister location in Nutley will remain open. Jim Dandy’s Rutherford Is Closing

Jim Dandy’s team shared the news with customers on Facebook, thanking the Rutherford community for its support over the years.

“After many wonderful years serving the Rutherford community, we want to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to all of our loyal customers, friends, neighbors, and staff,” the team shared in the announcement.

The restaurant added that it has been a privilege to be part of local family gatherings, celebrations, traditions, and everyday moments. Jim Dandy’s confirmed that the Rutherford location will close at the end of the day on Sunday, June 28th, 2026, depending on available inventory and supplies.

The Nutley Location Will Stay Open

North Jersey locals who love the restaurant’s ribs, wings, burgers, wraps, and comfort food staples do not have to say goodbye completely. The Jim Dandy’s team shared that its Nutley location will continue serving customers and the surrounding communities. Jim Dandy’s first opened in Nutley in 1986 and became known as the “Home of the Killer Ribs.” Over the years, the restaurant built a loyal following for its baby back ribs, wings, casual American eats, and family-friendly feel. While the Rutherford chapter is coming to a close, the team ended its announcement with a heartfelt message to the community: “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Rutherford.”
