The Golden Goat, an Asian-fusion spot in Bergen County, will open its first brick-and-mortar shop in Park Ridge. The husband-and-wife team of Robert + Jessica Scully announced via social media that Golden Goat would have a new home at 133 Park Avenue in Park Ridge starting in September 2026. The menu will feature handmade dumplings, bao buns, wok-fried noodles, and other Asian-inspired bites. Read on for more about Golden Goat’s new spot in Park Ridge, NJ.
Where it All Started
Husband and wife duo Robert and Jessica Scully worked in the Los Angeles food scene during the COVID-19 pandemic but struggled to find consistent jobs. “I think both of us are hungry chefs that are tired of working for others,” Robert Scully told NorthJersey.com.
They wanted to open a restaurant inspired by Asian street food that resembled a California dumpling spot. Golden Goat was then launched in 2022 as a 10-by-10 tent pop-up with only camping stoves and a small steamer.

Co-owner Jessica is Indonesian and has Chinese ancestry, which the couple wanted to incorporate into the business. They named the company after the Chinese zodiac, with the Golden Goat being Robert’s zodiac sign according to the Chinese lunar calendar.
They only had a small menu featuring four items and vended on streets in Alhambra and El Sereno in California. Golden Goat eventually brought their dumplings to community events, brewery pop-ups, and night markets. Just as the growing restaurant opened a permanent location in Los Angeles, the Scullys received devastating news that Robert’s father was diagnosed with brain cancer. This prompted the couple to relocate to the East Coast to be closer to family in December 2023.
About the New Jersey Location
Robert + Jessica resurfaced the Golden Goat in Bergen County, New Jersey in December 2023. Since then, the business has been catering-only.

In March of 2025, the team announced that it had found a spot in Park Ridge to be the new home base. The 133 Park Avenue location will be mainly takeout-friendly, with a few window high-top bar seats inside and picnic tables outside for warmer seasons.
The menu will closely reflect what they served in California, with the addition of sweet treats such as Vietnamese coffee tres leches, pandan jasmine cake, and black sesame cupcakes. There will also be speciality drinks to have with the pastries, including house iced coffee and Hong Kong milk tea.
According to the opening menu Golden Goat shared, the restaurant will offer four different types of dumplings. These flavors will alternate throughout the different seasons and are all rooted in traditional family recipes. There will also be wok-fried noodles and rice dishes influenced by Indonesian, Thai, Chinese, and Vietnamese cuisine.
Ordering at Golden Goat for catering is currently available Wednesday through Sunday, from 4PM to 12AM.
