In keeping with this tradition, many New Jersey towns host town-wide yard sales, giving residents a chance to clear out unwanted items and discover secondhand treasures. Bergen County

Town-Wide Garage Sale | Lodi Borough 

April 18-19th | 9AM-6PM

The town-wide garage sale requires a permit to participate, with a $10 fee per permit and a deadline for requests prior to the event. A rain date is scheduled for April 25-26th + all approved permits will automatically transfer. The deadline for requesting town-wide permits is April 15th.

Town-Wide Garage Sale | Fair Lawn

May 16-17th | 8AM-3PM

Proceeds from the registration of this sale are donated to the Fair Lawn Food Pantry, supporting local families in need while encouraging residents to declutter, connect with neighbors, and shop sustainably. A minimum $5 per-day donation is required to participate.

Spring Town-Wide Garage Sale | Oakland

May 2nd, 2026 | 8:45AM

This sale is hosted by the Oakland Newcomers and Neighbors Club and takes place May 2nd (rain or shine). Registration is $20 and closes April 25. Maps of participating homes will be available at 8:45AM the day of at the Oakland Public Library, and registered participants will receive instructions for lawn sign pickup by email.

Burlington County

Township Spring Yard Sale | Palmyra Borough 

May 30th| 8AM-3PM

Residents can participate in a borough-wide yard sale featuring a treasure map of registered locations to help shoppers explore participating homes + businesses. Registration by May 26 is required to be included, with bulk cleanup options available alongside the event. There is no registration fee to participate. 

Township Fall Yard Sale | Palmyra Borough

Sept 12th | Time TBA

This fall town-wide yard sale is the second annual event for Palmyra Borough. Registration is required to be included on a map of participating addresses. More information will be available for fall as it approaches.

Camden County

Town-Wide Yard Spring Sale | Haddon Heights Library

April 25th | 10AM-2PM

The Haddon Heights Library sponsors two yard sales each year. This spring sale allows residents to register for $10, with proceeds supporting the local library. Participants are included on a published map + receive official signage, helping shoppers easily locate sales across the area.

Town-Wide Yard Fall Sale | Haddon Heights Library

This second town-wide yard sale is a library-sponsored event that helps raise funds for the local library while allowing residents to declutter + shop for secondhand finds. Registration includes a $10 fee and provides inclusion on an official map, yard signs, and advertising, with a published list of participating homes available prior to the sale.

Essex County

Town-Wide Yard Sale | Glenridge

Last year’s event, hosted by the Friends of the Glen Ridge Library included over 75 participating homes and an interactive map to help shoppers navigate. This sale is expected to return late September, with details to be announced.

Town-Wide Yard Sale | Montclair

May 24th

Montclair has held three town-wide yard sales in the past, benefiting the Human Needs Food Pantry, and includes interactive shopping maps. This year’s sale will take place Sunday, May 24th across town in residents’ driveways, backyards, or garages.  To have your address included in the map, register here.

Town-Wide Yard Sale | Cedar Grove

Last year, Cedar Grove hosted its town-wide yard sale in early September, with residents participating between 9AM-3PM. The event did not require a permit, though registration was required to be included on the virtual map shared with shoppers. This sale is expected to return, with details TBA.

Town-Wide Yard Sale | Nutley

Date TBA 

Nutley has hosted community-wide yard sales in past years featuring participating homes across the township with shared listings for shoppers. The event will likely return in 2026, with details to be announced. 

Hudson County

Earth Day Citywide Gate Sale | Hoboken 

April 18th | 9AM-2PM

Residents are invited to shop, sell, and support sustainability through a community yard sale event that helps give gently used items a second life. Participants can host at home or reserve a designated space at Church Square Park, with an online map helping shoppers explore all participating locations. Seller registration is now closed but the event is open to all.

Town-Wide Yard + Sidewalk Sale | Kearny

May 2-3rd | 9AM-5PM

Registration is open until April 30th for residents only. There is no fee to participate. Once registered, homes will be added to an official Google map and included in local promotion to help shoppers find participating sales.

Middlesex County

Town-Wide Garage Sale | Metuchen 

April 25th | 9AM-4PM

This town-wide garage sale is a one-day community event that benefits the Friends of the Metuchen Library, a nonprofit supporting library programming and acquisitions. Residents can participate in this garage sale for a $5 seller fee for inclusion on an official map listing and promotional webpage. Shopping is free. Registered sellers receive a lawn sign , can choose one or both days to participate, and are featured on updated online maps and neighborhood PDFs.

Morris County

Town-Wide Yard Sale | The Chathams & Madison

Town-Wide Yard Sale | Florham Park 

May 9th (9AM–5PM) + May 10 (12–3PM) 

Taking place over Mother’s Day weekend, this sale urges residents to shop + sell across participating homes while enjoying a full weekend of spring events. Annual Garage Sale | Morris Township

May 16-17th | 9AM-4PM

This town-wide garage sale is set for Saturday and Sunday, May 16–17, from 9AM o 4 PM, giving residents the perfect chance to declutter or hunt for hidden treasures. Residents of Morris Township can register by May 14 at 4 p.m. to have their address included on the official list.  Passaic County

City-Wide Garage Sale | Clifton

June 6th-7th | 9AM-6PM

This citywide garage sale runs Friday through Sunday, June 5–7, from 9AM to 6PM across Clifton, inviting residents to clear out their homes and connect with local bargain hunters. Registration must be completed in person by June 1, with a $25 fee that includes the required permit and supports the Clifton Heroes Parade Committee. Somerset County

Atlantic Health Spring Rummage Sale | Far Hills

Atlantic Health is holding its biannual rummage sale on Friday, May 1st from 9:30AM–3:30PM and Sunday, May 3 from 12:30–3:30PM at the Far Hills Fairgrounds. The space spans two acres and features more than 25 departments, including clothing, furniture, toys, and records. All proceeds benefit Atlantic Health Visiting Nurse services.

4th Semi-Annual Town-Wide “Green” Spring Yard Sale | Bernards 

April 11th | 9AM-3PM

Taking place at residents’ yards or garages, this sale invites participants to sell or donate lightly used goods to promote a more sustainable community. The sale will take place rain or shine + there is no cost to register your home.

Ocean County

Community Yard Sale | Pine Beach 

April 25-26th | 9AM-3PM

This community spring yard sale is sponsored by the Pine Beach Volunteer Fire Company + offers residents the chance to participate for a $20 registration fee that includes advertising, a mapped listing, and a yard sale permit. 

Town-Wide Yard Sale | Stafford Township

May 2-3rd | 8AM-3PM

This yard sale invites residents to host sales + shop across participating neighborhoods, with addresses published online ahead of the event to help plan routes. Registration is required by April 17th to be included + no permit is necessary to participate.

Town-Wide Garage Sale | Lavallette

Sept 19-20th | 9AM-3PM
