After a successful first year, the North To Shore Festival is set to return once again in 2024. In its inaugural 2023 season, the festival kicked off to celebrate the legacy of music, comedy, film, and technology in three different cities of New Jersey: Asbury Park, Newark, and Atlantic City. Each city had its own dedicated weekend lineup that was made up of screenings, performances, parties, and conversations. Governor Phil Murphy and First Lady Tammy Murphy were the ones who launched this initiative celebration for various public figures to join in and for the public to enjoy. In 2024, the North To Shore Festival is set to be held in the same cities again but with new lineups that many are eager to know about. Read on to learn more about the information surrounding the 2024 North to Shore Festival in Asbury Park, Newark, and Atlantic City, NJ.

There are no set headliners known as of October 2023 but the details surrounding performers will be made known to the public in March 2024. Looking back at the 2023 North to Shore Festival, there was a star-studded lineup featuring New Jersey-born singer Halsey, hip hop singers Eric B. + Rakim, rock singer Santana, Brazilian star Marisa Monte, and R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan.

Besides musical performances, concerts, film screenings, and art exhibits, the event featured expert panel discussions on innovation in technology, climate change, healthcare, and business, as well as scores of performances and events. Many artists and innovators were able to be celebrated through these different events in the North 2 Shore Festival. There was a positive outlook on the festival which was able to draw in “an audience of nearly 250,000 to more than 300 shows in more than 100 venues,” per a press release. Ticket sales came up to a total of $7.6 million, marking it a successful turnout.

Since the event is targeted to New Jersey-based talent, this year’s North to Shore Festival awarded North to Shore grants to 56 artists based in either Asbury Park, Newark, or Atlantic City. The same program is set to come for the 2024 festival. If interested in having a chance to win a grant, local artists and organizations can find more information through the festival’s official website here.

Grantees will be chosen by a committee of local arts and culture leaders from each city. Between 15 and 20 grants are expected to be awarded in each city. The application period for festival grants opened on October 10th and closes on November 10th, 2023. Also, for any grant applicants looking for more information, there will be virtual information sessions for grant applicants in October and November. A final decision of the grantees will be made known in late December, and they will then go on to appear at the festival in June 2024.
