It’s no surprise The Bagel Nook has a large following on TikTok (over 241k followers) and Instagram (177k followers), especially coming out with items that have made people want to visit their local Bagel Nook and follow the trend of posting about them on social media. Following the success of the Oreo bagel, the latest invention to go viral is the pumpkin bagel. The soft orange bagel — yes, shaped like a pumpkin and topped with a green licorice stem — is sold at every Bagel Nook location and available to purchase until Thanksgiving. Many people have paired the pumpkin bagel with the pumpkin-flavored cream cheese to make the fall delight.

Television hosts Kit Hoover and Mario Lopez recently raved about them on Access Hollywood. “The bagel master father and son combo David and Alex Berkowitz are crafting combinations in the bagel world that people haven’t seen,” co-host Mario told viewers. The Bagel Nook has also been featured in Food & Wine, Glamour magazine, on The Today Show, and on the Travel Channel’s Best Places to Pig Out.

Worth The Visit

Immediately upon walking into a Bagel Nook, customers will notice it’s “not your average” bagel store. There are graffiti paintings on the wall with catchphrases like, “Get your nook on,” and glossy pictures of the shop’s bagel concoctions. When faced with the task of choosing a cream cheese flavor, it’s similar to choosing an ice cream flavor since there are so many to choose from — and they’re flavors customers might have never heard of before.

While the store has the usual flavors such as lox and strawberry, there is also a selection of “crazy cream cheese” flavors. Some of these include bacon cheddar, blazing ranch, blueberry crumb, Nutella, cookie dough, Oreo, Cookie Monster, birthday cake, Fruity Pebbles, and olive. There are vegan cream cheeses, and in addition to pumpkin, the other seasonal flavors are ghost pepper cream cheese, cranberry walnut, and apple pie.

After selecting a cream cheese, customers are then tasked with selecting a bagel. Apart from the everyday bagels (everything, onion, sesame, pumpernickel, poppy, etc.), there are cereal-based flavors and other unique ones including, Cheetos, tie-dye, Doritos, Oreo, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cocoa Puffs, Cap ‘n Crunch, and Fruity Pebbles.

In addition, there are specialty bagels that have different toppings, such as potato skin (topped with potato shreds and chives), blueberry crumb bagel, jalapeno cheddar, and various French toast bagels (raspberry swirl, cannoli, and chocolate).

Customers can also order sweet breakfast items, such as pancakes, as well as baked goods, including crumb cake, corn muffins, red velvet muffins, and coffee crumb muffins.

The Bagel Nook has its own coffee brand, available for purchase, but customers can also have a hot or iced coffee to go with the wide selection of flavors, or one of their specialty drinks, such as the Beetlejuice Nookuccino.

The bagel shop has lunch toppings to pair with a bagel, including Boar’s Head cold cuts (homemade roast beef, genoa salami, pastrami, etc.) or various salads, such as tuna salad, potato salad, macaroni salad, egg salad, and chicken salad.

There are specialty sandwiches, such as the “Naughty Nooker” bagel sandwich made with grilled or breaded chicken cutlet, and melted cheddar or “The Mother Clucker” made with cheesesteak, chicken tenders, bacon, and egg.
