A caffeinated beverage pairs beautifully with a beachside stroll or a shopping excursion on Cookman Avenue. Whether looking for a new grab-and-go option or in need of a spot to catch up with a friend over a latte or two, we’ve rounded up our favorite places in town. Asbury Park

Asbury Park Roastery | Convention Hall – 1300 Ocean Avenue

The Asbury Park Roastery is conveniently located on the boardwalk at the north end of Convention Hall, an easily accessible stop before getting settled into a beach chair for the day. The boardwalk location has coffee and tea available by the bag or by the cup, espresso-based drinks, and an indoor seating area. The Convention Hall location is open Friday through Monday from 7:30AM to 6PM, so plan accordingly. The original roasting shop is located at 803 Second Avenue in Asbury Park, between Main Street and Memorial Drive.

Booskerdoo Coffee & Baking Co. | 1321 Memorial Drive

the outskirts of downtown Asbury, visitors can find the Booskerdoo Coffee & Baking Co. flagship location serving up freshly roasted coffee made with reverse osmosis water. Reverse osmosis is a process that removes hard minerals and other contaminants from water, which can be harmful to your health, so we love that. Booskerdoo is known for its exceptional service and warm, inviting vibe that keeps customers coming back for more. While you are there you must try the vegan kitchen sink bar – delicious. 

Cafe Volan | 510 Bangs Avenue

A day of shopping downtown is best fueled by drinks from the cool and cozy Cafe Volan on Bangs Avenue. The menu includes drip coffee, iced coffee, lattes, teas, seasonal specials, and small bites such as avocado toast, cookies, and granola. Though the vibes of the cafe are not to be missed, a curbside ordering and pickup option is available from 7AM to 5PM daily. Weather permitting, outdoor sidewalk seating is available.

Cameo Love Market | 1213 Main Street

Cameo Love Market, the specialty Mediterranean market and bistro located on Main Street, features coffees, teas, tinctures, elixirs, kombucha, grab-and-go seasonal produce, as well as a full menu of farm-to-table salads and sandwich options. The pressed-tin ceiling brings a touch of urban chic to this beachside cafe. There is a small market of dry goods such as honey, pastas, and spreads for something special to bring back home. 

Lola’s European Cafe | 539 Cookman Avenue

Lola’s European Cafe is a Cookman Avenue staple featuring coffee, cocktails, cheeses, paninis, non-traditional gelato flavors and so much more. or a cafe spot with a lot of options and not just coffee this is the place to go. Lola’s rustic and bohemian ambiance can be enjoyed both inside and outside. 

The Art of the Bean and Leaf | 633 Cookman Avenue

Whether you need a quick coffee to-go, a pot of tea to enjoy while you read, a breakfast sandwich, or something to satisfy your sweet tooth, The Art of the Bean and Leaf has you covered. Not to mention it is conveniently located right on Cookman Avenue in the middle of all the shops. The cafe features an array of eclectic, local art with rotating showcases and often hosts open mic concerts.

Ocean Grove

Ocean Grove Bake Shoppe | 55 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove

After a short trek over the Wesley Lake footbridges into the historic town of Ocean Grove, you’ll find the small and darling Ocean Grove Bake Shoppe right in the middle of town. The adorable, pink-painted bake shop has a variety of breads, cookies, cakes, and a full coffee bar. Plus, it has outdoor seating on the sidewalk which is perfect for people-watching and puppy-petting.

Odyssey Coffee | 50 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove

Odyssey Coffee is a serene, laid-back cafe right in the heart of Ocean Grove. The Downstairs Kitchen drops off an array of fresh baked goods daily. Odyssey Coffee is open from 7AM to 5PM daily and is just a short walk from the newly reconstructed Ocean Grove Pier on the boardwalk.

Neptune

Steadyhand Cafe & Collective | 140 Steiner Avenue, Neptune

Steadyhand Cafe & Collective is Neptune City’s first and only mobile cafe cart, offering hot and cold espresso based-drinks and grab-and-go bottled lattes. The vibrant, playful, and incredibly photogenic coffee drinks are made using house-made syrups and organic ingredients. The coffee is grown by women-owned coffee farms and farming co-ops. Steadyhand is located inside Cats Luck vegan bakery on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
