A New All-Day Italian Cafe Is Coming to Red Bank from the Birravino Team

A new, all-day Italian cafe and restaurant is coming to Red Bank next year. Victor Rallo, the owner behind iconic Monmouth County restaurants including Birravino and Undici, is working on a new venture slated to open at 187 Riverside Avenue in Red Bank in 2027.  Rallo Alimentari & Focacceria aims to bring a piece of Italian cuisine and culture to Red Bank, New Jersey. The Jersey Shore Girl spoke with Jake Rallo, managing partner at River Pointe Inn, Pastavino, Undici, and  Birravino, for all of the details on this new project. Read on for more about Rallo Alimentari & Focacceria coming to Red Bank, NJ.

What’s Coming

While the Rallo family restaurants are well known for their excellent food and ambiance, Rallo Alimentari & Focacceria aims to bring something entirely new to the table.  “The idea is inspired by the cafés you find throughout Italy — somewhere you can stop in for a pastry and espresso in the morning, grab a focaccia sandwich in the afternoon, or come back in the evening for small plates and a great bottle of Italian wine,” Jake Rallo said. “We want it to be a place that feels just as natural at 9AM as it does at 9PM.”

Unlike the Rallo family’s other restaurants, this new space will be open all day long, with a menu that evolves as the day goes on. Similar to the European cafes that inspired this project, Jake tells us that the new space will open in the morning with a selection of “handmade laminated pastries, espresso and small bites, then transition throughout the afternoon and evening into a restaurant with an expanded menu and Italian beverage program.”

Rallo Alimentari & Focacceria will be located at 187 Riverside Avenue, in the former Bridge Avenue Gas building. The space was a gas station for decades and even had cameos in some movies, such as That Touch of Mink starring Cary Grant + Doris Day.  The space is near Birravino, and the Rallo team purchased it in late 2025.

“My family has been trying to purchase the gas station behind Birravino for many, many years,” Jake said. “It was always in the back of our minds, and when the opportunity finally presented itself, we had to jump on it.”

Once the deal went through, the team took some time to think through the new space and conceptualize what it could become. The Rallo family has deep ties to Italian culture and food. Victor’s parents are from Italy, and Victor himself spent years traveling through Italy while filming his television series, On the Road with Vic Rallo: Italy.

“When we considered the size of the space, our family history, what New Jersey already has to offer and, more importantly, what we felt was missing, this concept just made sense,” Jake said.

What to Expect

“We don’t have exact menu details yet, but think laminated pastries in the morning, freshly baked focaccia sandwiches in the afternoon and evening, and seasonal Italian small plates,” Jake said.  “There will also be an entirely Italian beverage program with a strong focus on wine and aperitivo. One thing I do know is that the menu will be small and focused.”

The team is hoping for an early 2027 opening. Once doors open, guests can expect to enjoy not only the food, but an exciting and warm ambiance.

“I don’t think there is anything quite like what we’re creating in Monmouth County, or really greater New Jersey,” Jake said. “We’re excited to bring that true Italian feeling to Red Bank and create a place people want to experience throughout the entire day — from their morning espresso to dinner and a bottle of wine.”
