Apple and pumpkin picking in the fall is a must-do activity. For some, it’s all about the search for the best apple to bake a homemade pie. For others, it’s the excuse to put on a flannel and take advantage of a pumpkin patch photo-op. At the Jersey Shore, there are plenty of farms hosting apple and pumpkin picking, and some even include bucket-list-worthy fall activities like hayrides and corn mazes that JSG doesn’t want you to miss out on. You Pick: Both Apples + Pumpkins

Battleview Orchards | 91 Wemrock Road, Freehold

Battleview Orchards is a family-owned and operated farm in Freehold. Pick-your-own apples and pumpkins are available. Please call ahead or check the Facebook page for more information, as dates and hours vary depending on weather and supply. Besides apples and pumpkins, Battleview Orchards has a country store – JSG recommends the cider donuts. In the fall, there are hayrides on the weekends.

Duffield’s Farm Market | 280 Chapel Heights Rd #9355, Sewell

Duffield’s Farm Market is a fourth-generation farm and market featuring fruits, vegetables, bakery goods, and a deli in Sewall. In the fall, it has hayrides to pick-your-own apples Monday-Saturday 10AM-2PM (pumpkin picking rides TBD, click here for updates). To purchase picking tickets, click here.

Eastmont Orchards | 321 County Road 537, Colts Neck

Eastmont Orchards is a family-friendly farm in Colts Neck. It’s open seven days a week, Monday through Friday, 9AM-5PM, and Saturday through Sunday, 9AM-6PM. Apple picking begins in mid-August, and pumpkin picking starts in mid-September. Visit the page for closing dates and accurate hours of operation. FYI: There is no entrance fee.

Johnson’s Corner Farm | 133 Church Road, Medford

Johnson’s Corner Farm is in Medford. It has Harvest Festivals every weekend through October, including hayrides to pick pumpkins, gourds, and apples. Johnson’s Corner Farm Harvest Festival also features music entertainment, gem mining, duck races, an animal farm, and a festival food tent. FYI: Weekday pricing is 25% less. Mood’s Farm Market | 901 Bridgeton Pike, Mullica Hill

Mood’s Farm Market, located in Mullica Hill, specializes in pick-your-own fruit. Mood’s Farm Market has apple-picking hayrides starting in September, and pumpkin-picking hayrides are in October. Stone Tavern Orchards | 73 Rues Road, Cream Ridge

Stone Tavern Orchards has pick-your-own fun in Cream Ridge. It hosts fall activities like pick-your-own apples, pumpkins, and flowers. Stone Tavern Orchards also has a hayride, corn maze, corn pit, and pony rides, plus a petting zoo. There’s also a food tent and farm stand with veggies, honey, and more autumn essentials.

Stiles Farm + Nursery | 172 South Delsea Drive, Cape May Court House

Von Thun’s Country Farm Market | 505 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction

Von Thun’s is a farm market in Monmouth Junction. Its fall festival is every Saturday + Sunday in October, 10AM-5PM. The festival includes 20+ activities and attractions, including contests, games, photo-ops, hayrides, singing chicken shows, and more. Argos Farm | 1250 Lacey Road, Forked River

Argos Farm is in Forked River. Its Fall Festival is available from September 13th to October 26th, and then again from November 1st. In September, the festival is open on Saturday and Sunday from 10AM to 6PM. In October, it is open on Thursday and Friday from 2PM-6PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10AM-6PM. The fall festival attractions include pick-your-own pumpkins, a corn maze, and fun activities for kids like its Pumpkin Bounce Pad, Wagon Rides, Double Hay Slide, and more. Atlantic Farm | 1506 Atlantic Avenue, Manasquan

Atlantic Farm is in Manasquan. Fall activities at Atlantic Farm begin September 14th, including a pumpkin patch, hayride, and corn maze. There’s also a petting zoo, bounce house, and more kid-friendly activities. It has a weekend wristband special, which is $15 a person (kids one year and under are free). Bullock Farms | 83 Emleys Hill Road, Cream Ridge

Bullock Farms is a 175-acre preserved farm in Cream Ridge. Bullock Farms’ fall harvest season is from September 20th to October 26th, available Friday through Sunday, 10AM-5PM. It includes access to pumpkin picking, barnyard animals, hayrides, corn mazes, and more. Casola’s is a nursery in Holmdel. Besides pumpkin picking, it has a free admission fall fest, including a petting zoo and hayride available daily beginning the weekend of September 13th. On weekends, attractions include face painting, a corn maze, and gold panning, all of which operate from 9AM to 5PM.

Etsch Farms | 556 Buckelew Avenue #522, Monroe Township

Etsch Farms is a fourth-generation family-owned farm in Monroe Township. Etsch Farms has pumpkin picking, a hayride, and an eight-acre corn maze. Hallock’s U Pick Farm | 38 Fischer Road, New Egypt

Hallock’s is a you-pick farm in New Egypt. Pumpkin and rutabaga picking is available in the fall. Hallock’s has plenty of other vegetables to choose from, depending on the season. For more information, click here.

R + J Farm | 723 Herschel Street, Egg Harbor City

R and J Farm opens September 20th in Egg Harbor City. It has a pumpkin patch, corn maze, and hayride. R and J Farm has cute photo areas set out in the field, a snack shack, and an ice cream sandwich truck on the weekends. For hours and prices, click here

Silverton Farms | 1520 Silverton Road, Toms River

Silverton Farms is a locally grown produce farm in Toms River. It focuses on organic produce that customers can shop for and pick throughout the year. During the fall, the farm offers hayrides and pumpkin picking.
