7 Must-Visit Alpaca Farms Near the Jersey Shore

From fall festivals to apple and pumpkin picking, there are so many things to do at the Jersey Shore during the fall season. To add to that plentiful list, The Jersey Shore Girl has rounded up seven alpaca farms near the Jersey Shore to visit this fall. In this list, locals can expect to see farms that allow guests to feed, photograph, and learn all about alpacas at various farm tours, as well as farms that feature shops with alpaca products. Read on to learn more about these must-visit New Jersey alpaca farms at the Jersey Shore + beyond.

Bluebird Farm Alpacas | 44 Willow Avenue, Peapack

Make a reservation here to visit Bluebird Farms Alpacas on weekends for a farm tour or an alpaca walking adventure. Guests can also opt to accompany their family members or friends on their alpaca walking adventure. This option is great for the little ones under eight years old. During the tours, guests will have multiple opportunities to feed, feel, and photograph the alpacas. Bluebird Farms is located about two hours from the Jersey Shore. The farm also provides private tours for up to eight guests, starting at $220.

Cedar Lane Alpacas | 67 Victory Road, Howell

This farm was established in 2005, the owners opened a farm store known as The Alpaca Shop in 2010, and their online store in 2018 where they sell Alpaca fleece and yarn. The farm provides tours, where guests can learn all about alpacas, their heritage, and care, on specific dates in October, November, and part of December. See here for the dates and times.

Emelise Alpacas | 73 MacKenzie Road, Hampton

Susan and Wayne Robinson began their alpaca journey in 2002. Emelise Alpacas is committed to continuing education for ourselves, the alpaca community, and the general public, as stated on the website. The farm is open Saturdays + Sundays from 10AM to 4PM. Although no reservations are required to visit this farm, educational group tours must be scheduled in advance. Humor Me Farm | 128 Anthony Road, Glen Gardner

Humor Me Farm moved from its Newfoundland location to Glen Gardner, New Jersey. About a two-hour drive away from the Jersey Shore, this farm currently provides tours on an appointment-only basis, which can be easily scheduled right from the Facebook page. Jersey Shore Alpacas | 521 South Route 47, Cape May

Come meet Princess Leia and the rest of the alpacas at Jersey Shore Alpacas in Green Creek, near Cape May. Guests must book their trip to the farm in advance, as the farm does not accommodate walk-ins. From March to November, visitors can feed carrots to the alpacas at the fence line on Saturdays by making an appointment on the website here. Jersey Shore Alpacas also provides private mingling tours starting at $25. Schedule your appointment here. Out of Sight Alpacas | 416 Wells Mills Road, Waretown

The family behind this farm purchased their first eight alpacas in 2010 and now owns a successful alpaca farm in Waretown, New Jersey. By appointment only, Out of Sight Alpacas provides guided farm tours, self-guided walks with alpacas on the weekends, private parties, and off-site events. The farm also has a gift shop where guests can shop for yarn, rugs, hats, gloves, socks, sweaters, and more. Windy Farm Alpacas | 61 White Pine Road, Chesterfield

Established 1999, Windy Farm Alpacas provides private farm tours that include a walk in the pasture with the alpacas. Prices range from $45 to $75 depending on the size. Guests can also shop for alpaca products, including yarn and fleece, blankets, alpaca rugs, and more. The farm will also sell its products at a farmers’ market in Moorestown during November and at a holiday market at its home location in December.
