Somehow, it’s August. For some, this might signal that the end of summer is nearing, but we all know that there are several weeks of the season to enjoy. It’s been another busy week at the Jersey Shore, and we’ve got all the headlines to get you up to speed. Among the highlights: La Costa cafe in Lavalette has added Greek frozen yogurt; a new Bass Pro Shops is opening in NJ; and there are six new businesses to celebrate DTS.

– Derry Girls creator Lisa McGee is developing Wildwood, a new FX coming-of-age comedy following a group of Irish college students spending the summer of 2000 at the Jersey Shore (The Jersey Shore Girl).
– The biggest location of outdoor store Bass Pro Shops will open in New Jersey later this year (The Jersey Shore Girl).
– Ocean County acquired a new hovercraft capable of traveling across marshes, shallow water, mud, and ice to help first responders reach areas that conventional rescue boats cannot navigate (NJ.com).
– Lavalette’s La Costa has recently started serving a Greek-yogurt-based frozen yogurt (@jerseygirlexplores via Instagram).

– Project Purple, unveiled. Six Flags Great Adventure will debut Bakunawa in 2027, a 382-foot roller coaster expected to break six world records, including becoming the tallest and fastest spinning launch coaster (PIX11).

– A man with head and arm injuries was airlifted to a hospital after two recreational boats carrying four people collided approximately 10 miles off Barnegat Light (NJ.com).
