After an 11-Year Hiatus, Asbury Park Jazz Fest to Return on 6/28

Asbury Park is the place to be in the summer, with a celebration or festival always around the corner. And now, one of the city’s most popular events, Asbury Park Jazz Fest, will be returning on Sunday, June 28th. After being on hiatus for over a decade, this free, full-day celebration of jazz music will be held at Sunset Park, at 1305 Main Street. The Details

Asbury Park Jazz Fest was a long-standing annual event that was founded in 1989 and ran for over 15 years before going on hiatus after 2015. After years of requests from locals for the concert to return, it was confirmed that it would return on Sunday, June 28th, and will run from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. It will be held at Sunset Park, at 1305 Main Street, and will be open to the public. It is funded by a grant from the Asbury Park Urban Enterprise Zone. The Asbury Park Jazz Fest has earned a reputation as one of the city’s most beloved events and has featured many iconic jazz artists in the past, including Regina Carter, Jimmy McGriff, and Tal Farlow.

According to the event’s website, admission is free, and the festival will feature food + craft vendors. It is recommended that attendees bring a lawn chair, but tents are not allowed. The lineup for this year’s Jazz Fest is as follows:
