New restaurants are always welcome at the Jersey Shore, and Manasquan is now welcoming another. Coastal Canteen, located at 142 Main Street, is bringing a menu of seafood dishes and specialty craft cocktails to the shore. Read on to learn about Coastal Canteen, Manasquan’s new seafood restaurant.
About Coastal Canteen
Coastal Canteen, located at 142 Main Street in Manasquan, is a seafood restaurant that officially opened on Wednesday, May 20th. Described as a “coastal tavern”, it features a coastal-themed menu, creative decor, and rooftop seating.
The restaurant was opened by Chef Andre Barbero, who has come full circle with the business after years of attending culinary school and working in respected kitchens along the East Coast. According to Coastal Canteen’s website, Chef Barbero’s vision includes “bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and a menu that captures the spirit of the Jersey Shore in every dish.”

According to its Instagram, some of the seafood menu items include seared scallops, linguini + clams, sockeye salmon, and peppercorn-crusted tuna. Coastal Canteen also has a diverse beach-themed cocktail menu, including the After Dune Delight (gunpowder fig + laurel gin, elderflower, lime, orgeat, on a Santa Teresa cacao float) and Spicy Seacucumber (St. George green chili vodka, cucumber, lime, and Worcester hot sauce).

Coastal Canteen will also join the lineup of happy hours to try out DTS, with its Coastal Bar hosting happy hour specials Monday through Friday, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. It includes 25% off appetizers, $7 Aperol Spritzes, $7 Tito’s, $5 house wines, and 50% off draft beer.
The restaurant will also feature a monthly lineup of live music performances, starting on Friday, May 29th. Coastal Canteen’s live music lineup is currently confirmed all the way through July, and the full list can be found here.
