Early Look: JETSET Pilates in Tysons Corner

Whatever kind of workout you’re into, there’s a place that offers it in Northern Virginia. Pilates fans have been on the receiving end of a boom of new studios in the area. We checked out JETSET Pilates, a Miami-based concept, which just opened its first location in the area at 1640 Boro Place in Tysons Corner. We also chatted with Christy Rowe, the COO of the studio, about what to expect from JETSET. Read on for more about JETSET Pilates in Tysons Corner.

About JETSET Pilates

JETSET Pilates is located at 1640 Boro Place in Tysons Corner, across the street from the Whole Foods in the Boro. There’s free parking in the building, and once you get into the studio, there are lockers to keep your belongings safe. The studio is currently open in a ‘soft-opening’ state and will host its Grand Opening on Saturday, November 14th. COO Christy Rowe shared her thoughts with us about JETSET and what Northern Virginia neighbors should know.

The Fairfax Girl: What is JETSET Pilates?
Christy Rowe: JETSET Pilates is a modern reformer Pilates studio, and our Tysons Corner location is the very first JETSET in Virginia. The brand started in Miami in 2010 and has grown to more than 92 studios open today! Our signature class is 50 minutes of spring-based resistance training on custom-engineered reformers. It’s high-intensity but low-impact, set to curated playlists, and it builds real strength from head to toe. When people ask me to describe it, I tell them it feels like strength training, just in a safer, more fun setting.

TFG: What makes JETSET different from other Pilates studios?
CR: For me, it’s that every piece of the experience is intentional: the choreography, the music, the instructors, and a reformer built specifically for our method. Our instructors are trained through the JETSET Academy, and every class follows a structured progression, so clients get stronger week over week instead of repeating the same workout. What I love most is watching first-timers walk in unsure of what to expect, then walk out shaking and asking when they can book their next class.

TFG: Who would enjoy or benefit from this type of class?
CR: Honestly, anyone who wants to feel stronger. We see busy professionals who want an efficient, effective 50 minutes, runners and athletes looking for low-impact cross-training, and people who’ve never felt comfortable in a weight room. We offer Foundations classes for anyone new to the reformer, plus targeted Upper and Lower Sculpt classes. Every class includes modifications and progressions, so you can meet your body where it is that day.

TFG: Why Northern Virginia?
CR:  Bringing the first JETSET to Virginia was an easy decision for us. Tysons is one of the most dynamic communities in the region: people live, work and shop here, and they’re driven, health-conscious, and busy. That’s exactly who this workout is built for. There was clear demand for a premium reformer experience, and the response to our preview classes has been incredible. Virginia is home for us. I’ve lived in Virginia my whole life and have been based in Northern Virginia since 2020, and our owner, James Temple, lives in Richmond. Bringing the first JETSET to Virginia was personal and an easy decision.

TFG: Why do you think Northern Virginia is having such a fitness “moment”?
CR:  I think people here are thinking about fitness as a long-term investment. It’s about longevity, energy and feeling strong, not just how you look. The research on strength training and healthy aging is hard to ignore. But traditional strength training can feel intimidating, and reformer Pilates closes that gap: it’s guided, low-impact and approachable, and it still delivers measurable results. Northern Virginians want to make every hour count, and a results-driven, boutique workout fits that lifestyle perfectly.
