About Mathnasium
Mathnasium is a new, locally owned math learning center in Edgewater that targets K-12 students looking to catch up, get ahead, or be challenged in different areas of math. The program has other locations in New Jersey, including Hoboken, Fort Lee, and Paramus.
Mathnasium is known for the Mathnasium Method™, which the team describes as a “proprietary approach that builds math mastery through deep understanding by starting with what students already know”. The program focuses on addressing learning gaps, expanding students’ thinking processes, and adding new concepts seamlessly. Instructors at Mathnasium use this four-step process to achieve this:
- Assessment
- Customized learning plans
- Teaching for understanding (rather than memorization)
- Goal achievement
Every student receives a free assessment to help us understand their strengths and identify any skill gaps. From there, Mathnasium creates a customized learning plan tailored to their individual needs. “We meet students where they are academically and build from there, focusing on the specific skills and concepts they need to develop confidence and succeed,” Mathnasium explained. Lessons at Mathnasium are designed to be fun, not stressful, and the end goal is to help students create a positive relationship with math + critical thinking along the way.
Learning Options + Getting Started
After receiving a free assessment and customized learning plan, parents have the option of signing their child up for either in-center learning, online tutoring, or a hybrid schedule of both. Both options feature the same level of instructional quality and are specifically made to fit the student’s pace.
Free assessments are now available in Edgewater and can be booked here. An introductory enrollment deal is also available to the first 50 students at the Edgewater location, and 25 spots have already been taken, so don’t miss out. To learn more about Mathnasium in Edgewater, visit here.
