Pete was born in Washington Heights and has lived in Fort Lee since he was 5 years old. Pete considers Fort Lee a small New York with a tight-knit community. He’s had the joy of watching Fort Lee kids grow into mature and wonderful adults. Pete began his career at Hiram’s in 1982, working under the previous owner, Joe Barnao, who owned the business from 1955 to 2001. Joe Barnao, who was like a 2nd father to Pete, taught him everything about the business and beyond. Hiram’s is a major lasting highlight in Pete’s life.

Pete also mentioned that the success of the business is credited to all the customers and hard-working staff who make it all happen. Pete respects all other local businesses in the area, and any new competition is welcomed in a supportive way. Hiram’s has low prices and isn’t anticipating raising the prices anytime soon.
Hiram’s is a Fort Lee landmark with a lot of hard work, planning, and setup that goes on behind the scenes. Hiram’s is a well-prepared business producing short wait times for your food orders. It’s all very impressive due to the large volume of output sold on a daily basis, made in the petite kitchen with two fryers and one grill.
The Menu
Hiram’s is the ultimate destination for the devoted hot dog enthusiast. The Bergen County Girl learned that the menu has pretty much stayed the same throughout the years. The food menu is straightforward, with popular items available like the famous ripper hot dogs, burgers, fries, and onion rings. When Pete and Jeff took over the business in 2001, they added onion rings to the menu based on customer requests. In 2001, Pete and Jeff also added pickles for the burgers, soft cheese, and chili. Hiram’s serves classic beverages, including beer.
Hiram’s Roadstand is open daily from 11:00AM and closes at 8:30PM at 1345 Palisade Avenue in Fort Lee, New Jersey, 07024.
