And if you’re anything of a gamer, you’re probably familiar with Five Nights at Freddy’s, the video game horror franchise that made a name for itself out of the same concept. Many fans have fantasized about a real-life version of its Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza restaurant opening one day, and it’s officially on the way. The first in-person Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza location will be opening at the American Dream mall in East Rutherford, with a target date of 2027. About Five Nights at Freddy’s
Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF) is a horror video game franchise that began in 2014 with the titular video game Five Nights at Freddy’s, which quickly gained popularity for its immersive gameplay and detailed plot. Players take the role of a security guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a pizza restaurant franchise known for its family-friendly activities and singing animatronic band. However, at night, the animatronics become aggressive and wander the pizzeria on their own, leaving the player to complete their six-hour shift without being attacked by them. Since its first installment, FNAF has released a total of 12 mainline games, several novels, and two movies, with a third in development.

The new in-person Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza will recreate the in-game location, with a menu based on the fictional pizzeria, arcade games, and yes, live performances from the animatronics. Customers can also “step behind the curtain for immersive multiplayer survival-horror experiences,” according to American Dream’s Instagram.
There are no specific details on an opening date or when tickets will be available, but it is expected to open in 2027. The introduction of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza follows a string of new businesses + attractions that have opened at American Dream this year, including a new Tipsy Tie Dye location and a performing arts center.
