In December 2025, a coffee shop + café with Jersey Shore roots opened its first Bergen County outpost in Westwood, and now, just a month later, is eyeing another Bergen County location. According to an Instagram post from its founder, Almost Home General will soon be opening its doors in Hackensack, bringing another outpost to North Jersey. About Almost Home General
Almost Home General has built a strong following around New Jersey, with locations in Lincroft, Oceanport, Westwood, Westfield, Jersey City, and now an upcoming opening in Hackensack. On January 21, 2026, founder Robert Doran shared a photo on Instagram outside what appears to be the future Hackensack location, captioned: “Hackensack • final stretch of our northern location • the home stretch.”

The brand first started in Monmouth County in 2021, with its first location in Lincroft. It quickly accrued a massive following, drawing in crowds with its unique coffee drinks, breakfast, and lunch.
While details are unconfirmed, it’s expected that the Hackensack outpost will feature the same menu. At its other locations, the café is open daily, with menu staples like pancakes, French toast, and avocado toast. Lunch menu highlights include wraps and sandwiches, with standouts like the chicken Caesar wrap, tuna salad sandwich (a BG favorite), and the caprese panini.

While the food draws in many customers, the drink menu is another standout with seasonal sips like the snickerdoodle latte and the churro matcha latte.
