Cafe Et Lait Expands With a Second Fort Lee Location

If the name Cafe Et Lait sounds familiar to Fort Lee locals, that is probably because it is. The local coffee shop already has a location at 486 Main Street, and now Cafe Et Lait has expanded to the other side of town with a second location at 817 Abbott Boulevard. The new cafe is officially open, bringing its lineup of coffee, matcha, sandwiches, + more to another part of Fort Lee. Boozy Burbs first reported the opening on October 5th. Read on for what we know about Cafe Et Lait’s newest Fort Lee location.

About Cafe Et Lait

Cafe Et Lait’s original Fort Lee location opened at 486 Main Street in 2024. The cafe serves a mix of coffee, tea, matcha, pastries, sandwiches, + other breakfast and lunch options. The new Abbott Boulevard location brings the same concept to another section of town. The drink menu has plenty of coffee and tea options, along with drinks like strawberry matcha (one of our favorites). Food options range from quick breakfast bites to lunch, including an egg + cheese sandwich, a bagel with cream cheese, a BLTA, + a grilled cheese croissant, which is indeed as good as it sounds.

For longtime Fort Lee residents, the transformation of 817 Abbott Boulevard may be especially noticeable. The commercial space had sat vacant for years before undergoing significant renovations to become Cafe Et Lait’s newest location. We spoke with David Clesmere, a longtime Bergen County resident, who said he remembers the storefront being empty for more than 10 years and couldn’t recall what had occupied the space before that. David said he’s happy to see new life brought to this side of town, especially with Sharon Plaza and several restaurants already drawing locals to the area. He added that Cafe Et Lait gives residents another place to grab coffee, meet up with friends, or stop in while walking along Abbott Boulevard.

The expansion now gives the locally owned cafe two Fort Lee locations, with its original Main Street shop serving one side of town and the new Abbott Boulevard cafe offering another convenient option closer to Sharon Plaza.
