Abstract, Kim Schmitt Thomas Art Gallery | 326 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood

Kim Schmitt is an Artist/Painter and Curator/Gallery Director. She specializes in original large-scale paintings, as well as custom-designed commissions for your home. She is also the curator at the Hackensack Performing Arts Center.

African Art Museum of the SMA | 23 Bliss Avenue, Tenafly

This is one of only five museums worldwide that were founded and maintained by the Society of African Missions (SMA). was established in 1980 and is dedicated specifically to the arts of Africa, including sculptures, paintings, costumes, decorative arts, and more.

This is part art school and part gallery, welcoming both children and adults, with a focus on education. Events, exhibitions, and classes are constantly changing.

Oradell Animal Hospital

Art Mora Gallery | 173 Main Street, Ridgefield Park

This is a contemporary fine art gallery supporting and showcasing various artists. The gallery have collaborated with many institutions including: the Brooklyn Museum in New York, Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art in Oregon, and the Morris Museum in New Jersey.

Art School at Old Church | 561 Piermont Road, Demarest

The Mikhail Zakin Gallery and The Café Gallery at The Art School at Old Church (TASOC) showcase art and fine crafts. Housed in a 19th-century church, The Art School at Old Church is a “nonprofit, non-sectarian art and cultural center dedicated to inspiring individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.” Classes are also offered.

Originally in Fort Lee, the gallery represents international contemporary artists. Mediums include paintings, drawings, photography, videos, sculptures, and installations. The Artcom Center also offers art classes.

Convey Art Gallery | 9 North Broad Street, Ridgewood

This gallery highlights Contemporary and Pop Art, depicting a bold and colorful world. The online gallery offers a view into what you will discover live.

Gallery 270 | 270 Westwood Avenue, Westwood

This space is dedicated to the photographers who create their own artistic views through their lenses. Works range from vintage to modern.

While this space is a performing arts center with live and interactive events, it also houses an art gallery. Kim Schmitt Thomas is the Art Gallery Curator with the goal of “bringing compelling and lively exhibitions to the community.”

This museum was established in 1957 by the Blauvelt-Demarest Foundation in representation of Hiram Blauvelt, who was a philanthropist, conservationist, and collector. His private series on wildlife art is on display, and there is also a sculpture garden outside.

John W. Rea House | 675 Goffle Road, Hawthorne (Border of BC)

this house is quaint and charming and listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places. From exhibitions to classes and events, visitors can partake and be inspired.

Paul Larsen Gallery | 73 East Allendale Road, Saddle River

This is A communal space to gather and discuss fine art in different mediums. The upcoming calendar will advise all exhibitions and events.

The Ridgewood Art Institute | 12 East Glen Avenue, Ridgewood

the Ridgewood Art Institute is a non-profit arts organization that started in 1935. It has both professional and amateur artists who “represent and perpetuate America’s heritage of traditional realism in painting and drawing.”

Riverside Gallery | 1 Riverside Square, Suite 201, Hackensack

This gallery both international and regional artists in contemporary art and is set in the upscale mall.

Sfumato Gallery | 24 Booker Street, Westwood

This contemporary gallery presents “powerful and thought-provoking” works from established and up-and-coming artists. Creating a conversation and inspiring others through art is their goal.

The Stable Art Gallery | 259 North Maple Avenue, Ridgewood

This is a historic community art space housed in a restored 19th-century Civil War-era stable. It is free to visit and open to the public. The exhibits change monthly and showcase the works of local artists.

Abram Belskie was a London-born sculptor and medical illustrator who eventually came to the United States and resided in Closter. The museum was founded by the Closter Lions Club with the intention “to preserve, house and exhibit the works” of Mr. Belskie.
