Two New Food Locations Are Headed to Bergen County

Bergen County’s dining scene never seems to slow down, and the next wave of openings has locals buzzing. Two newcomers are gearing up to join the northern Bergen County lineup: a fresh falafel spot and a mysterious new ice cream shop, both arriving soon and both already generating curiosity. King Falafel 2 is set to open in Tenafly at 33 Riveredge Road, bringing a new stop for anyone craving a flavorful, fast-casual bite. Meanwhile, over in Fort Lee, an unnamed ice cream shop is in the works at 1230 B Anderson Avenue.  There’s no connection between the two concepts, but let’s be honest….a great falafel meal often ends with a sweet treat. Read on for everything known so far about these anticipated additions to the area.

King Falafel 2 Bringing Its Second Spot to Tenafly

King Falafel 2 will be an extension of the original King Falafel location in Elmwood Park. The concept highlights Mediterranean cuisine with a diverse menu that reflects the depth and richness of Middle Eastern flavors. Salads and meat platters anchor the menu, with choices ranging from chicken to shawarma and shrimp. The appetizer selection is extensive as well, featuring plenty of vegetarian options for those who follow a plant-forward diet.

Sandwiches are a major draw here at King Falafel, with more than 15 listed on the menu, and at first glance, BG is already eyeing the Baba Ghanouj sandwich, filled with eggplant, tahini, garlic, and olive oil. Soups, sides, and burek round out the savory offerings, while traditional desserts such as Dubai chocolate and knafeh ensure the meal ends on a sweet note. The Tenafly location is expected to become the second outpost for the brand, and based on their social media updates, a January opening is anticipated.

Something Sweet + a Bit Nostalgic is Headed to Fort Lee

The space that was formerly The Secret Salon has sat empty for quite some time, but recently a new sign appeared in the window: “Ice Cream Shop Coming Soon”. For many Fort Lee locals, this instantly sparked nostalgia. A beloved spot called Double Scoop previously served this same small strip along Anderson Avenue. When Double Scoop closed, ice cream fans in the area (including Carli from Team BG) found themselves traveling outside Fort Lee to get their fix. Now, a new ice cream destination is on the horizon and will be back on Anderson Avenue. No name or official signage has been revealed just yet, but the early hints are enough to stir excitement. As more information becomes available, this piece will be updated to reflect the latest details.

Canterly Place

As more spots continue to take shape across the county, there’s plenty of curiosity about what else the new year will bring to Bergen County.
