United Airlines Adds 8 New Flight Routes at Newark Liberty International Airport

For international travel enthusiasts in the Garden State, there’s some good news. United Airlines has recently announced an expansion to 10 new international cities in 2027, including eight new nonstop routes at Newark Liberty International Airport. United Airlines announced at an event at Newark Liberty International Airport on Wednesday, September 25th, that it will complete the largest international network expansion in its history in 2027, including eight nonstop routes at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). The announcement also debuted the company’s newest international aircraft, named the ‘Born to Explore’ A321XLR, which will fly to some of these new cities.

The new international cities flying out of EWR include:

  • Luxembourg City, Luxembourg | Daily
  • Marseille, France | Daily
  • Ibiza, Spain | 4x a week
  • Valencia, Spain | 3x a week
  • Terceira, Portugal | 3x a week
  • Ljubljana, Slovenia | 4x a week
  • Olbia (Sardinia), Italy | 3x a week
  • Catania (Sicily), Italy | 4x a week

Of these eight routes, the flights to Luxembourg City, Marseille, Ibiza, Valencia, Terceira, and Ljubljana are the only nonstop routes available in the United States. United Airlines’ expansion also includes routes to Okinawa, Japan, out of San Francisco International Airport (SFO), and Toulouse, France, out of Dulles International Airport (IAD). United Airlines has added 58 international destinations to its route map in the past decade.

The new nonstop routes out of Newark Liberty International Airport will start on Friday, April 2nd, 2027, with the Newark to Luxembourg City route. However, tickets are already available for sale today on United Airlines’ website and app.
