Two Sisters Farm Opens in Long Valley

Located at 26 Pleasant Grove Road in Long Valley, Two Sisters Farm sits atop historic Schooley’s Mountain. Two Sisters Farm officially opened on September 19th and celebrated its grand opening weekend on October 3rd and 4th. According to its website, the new farm centers around a classic pumpkin-picking experience, with visitors able to take a free wagon ride to the pumpkin patch before searching for a pumpkin to take home. The farm describes the experience as a return to the kind of simple fall outing many people remember from childhood, with plenty of fresh air, seasonal scenery, and time outdoors.

“We’re excited to create something that feels personal and welcoming, a place where families can slow down, spend time together, enjoy the beauty of the land, and make memories,” Rebekah Alstede Modery told Morris Tourism. “This property has its own history, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to begin a new chapter here while keeping its future rooted in agriculture.”

According to an article from Morris Tourism, the Alstede family has been farming in the Schooley’s Mountain area since 1983, when they purchased a small farm. Now, more than four decades later, sisters Rebekah and Sarah are starting a new agricultural chapter with Two Sisters Farm. The property was previously cared for and farmed by Liebenzell USA and was home to the Emmaus Farm Community Garden. After becoming involved with the property earlier this year, the sisters quickly got to work, planting new apple trees and sowing pumpkins ahead of the farm’s inaugural fall season.

What to Expect at Two Sisters Farm

Two Sisters operates as a pick-your-own pumpkin destination, with pumpkins priced at 89 cents per pound and a minimum price of $4.29. Admission to the farm is free, and the wagon ride to and from the pumpkin patch is also free. The farm also has a stand selling seasonal goodies, including local apples, apple cider, freshly baked cider doughnuts, and other baked items.

“We want Two Sisters Farm to be a place where people feel welcome from the moment they arrive,” Sarah J. Alstede told Morris Tourism. “Whether they come to pick a pumpkin, enjoy the mountain views, or simply spend a fall afternoon together, we hope they leave with memories they’ll want to make again year after year.”

Two Sisters Farm is also dog-friendly, so well-behaved, leashed pups are welcome to join their humans for a fall outing. The farm notes that management reserves the right to remove a pet or deny entry if a dog becomes a safety concern.
