While Halloween is just one day, we like to celebrate the spooky season at the Jersey Shore the whole month of October. Local summer may be coming to an end, but we happen to love autumn at the shore just as much, especially when it comes to celebrating Halloween. Read on for more Halloween fun at the Jersey Shore.
Asbury Ghost Tours | Asbury Park

While tours aren’t limited to just the Halloween season, taking a ghost tour is an amazing Halloween activity to learn about the haunted lore of the Jersey Shore. The Paranormal Museum in downtown Asbury Park hosts weekly ghost tours that explore the town’s storied past. Choose between their three tour options: Ghosts and Legends of the Downtown, Ghosts of the Boardwalk, or the Asbury Park Haunted Pub Tour. Make sure to book your tickets in advance to guarantee a spot. If you don’t have time for a full tour, you can also visit the Paranormal Museum for a peek at their curated collection of haunted and supernatural artifacts, including haunted dolls and the infamous Singing Couch, which locals claim echoes with a “mournful tune.”
Asbury Park Zombie Walk | Asbury Park

This year marks the 18th annual Asbury Park Zombie Walk to kick off spooky season. This totally free event is a gathering for all ages where visitors dress up in zombie costumes for an organized walk through the city of Asbury Park. Whether you choose to participate or simply want to be a spectator, this is a great way to get into the Halloween spirit.

Witches of Spring Lake Paddle for a Cause | Spring Lake
Saturday, October 10th
This annual event raises money for local Monmouth County causes, and this year they’re partnering with Blue Dot Community, which aims to foster wellness, connection, and community for people with and without disabilities. If you don’t have a paddleboard on hand, come down and watch the witches and warlocks paddle and snap some epic photos.
Long Branch Fall Festival + Pooch Parade | Long Branch
Saturday, October 17th
Your four-legged friends are welcome to celebrate the season with you at the Long Branch Fall Festival and Pooch Parade. Pier Village transforms for the fall season to include live music, pumpkin carving, seasonal treats, and a parade of pups dressed in their best Halloween costumes. Family-friendly DJ JoJo kicks off the celebrations, followed by a live performance by The Nerds. Local businesses join in on the fun, with bracelet making from Little Words Project, paint-a-pot with Blue Skies Pottery, and more. If you plan on participating in the Pooch Parade and dog costume contest, make sure to register in advance. Registration is $5 per dog, and all proceeds benefit Jersey Shore Dog Alliance.
Jenkinson’s Boo at the Boardwalk | Point Pleasant

Boo at the Boardwalk is the perfect way to celebrate Halloween with the whole family. The two-weekend event includes trick-or-treating for the little ones, live entertainment, character appearances, and Halloween-themed activities, such as underwater pumpkin carving and slime making. There’s even a Howl-O-Ween Canines + Cocktails event for the adults on Saturday, October 17th. Boo at the Boardwalk has events on Saturday, October 17th, Sunday, October 18th, Saturday, October 24th, and Sunday, October 25th. Check the schedule to plan your visit.
Atlantic City Halloween Bar Crawl | Atlantic City
Friday, October 30th
Every year, thousands of locals and visitors dress in their Halloween best for a pub crawl through some of the best spots in Atlantic City. Your ticket gets you access to over four local bars, a kickoff party, free entry into the bars, and food and drink specials. Plus, look out for their social media giveaway, where you could win up to $2000 in prizes.
Murder Mystery Dinner Cruise | Brielle

While you enjoy your meal, you’ll enjoy live entertainment and an interactive murder mystery dinner, where you and the other passengers will “uncover clues, question suspects, and race against the clock to discover the hidden killer before the night is over.” This event is likely to sell out, so purchase your tickets early.
House of Independents Haunted House Halloween Party | Asbury Park

If you’re trying to decide what to do on Halloween, consider attending the Jersey Shore’s largest Halloween party at the iconic House of Independents in Asbury Park. The event will include live DJs all night long, spooky Halloween decorations, and a $1,500 prize costume contest. Tickets sell out every year, so be sure to purchase them in advance if you plan on attending.
Jenks Club Halloween Party | Point Pleasant
Saturday, October 31st
If you regularly frequent Jenks Club in the summer months, you’ll love attending their annual Halloween party. Throughout the night, there will be over $20,000 in prizes for the costume contest, so dress in your best costume. You can also enjoy $4 Coors Light and $4 Miller Lite all night long. While you don’t need to purchase tickets, we recommend getting there early, as this event tends to draw a crowd.
Trick or Treat at the Physick Estate | Cape May
Saturday, October 31st
Bring the kids to the Emlen Physick Estate for a memorable trick-or-treating experience at Cape May’s real haunted house. From 5PM to 7PM, kids can stop by to trick-or-treat at this historic Cape May landmark. You can also stop by throughout the month of October to check out the Department 56 Halloween Exhibit at the Emlen Physick Estate, where the space is decked out in black cats, spooky houses, and pumpkin decorations galore.
