Skinny Flowers officially started brewing its beer on July 11th, and announced this week that the grand opening will take place on Friday, August 1st, 2025.

“A dream in the making – Grand Opening Friday August 1st 2025!” its Instagram bio reads.

The grand opening event, which will kick off at 12PM, will be complete with special brews, music, and other fun activities.

What to Expect at the Brewery

Upon entering Skinny Flowers Brewing, visitors can expect two unique areas — the Main Taproom and the Moxee Room, divided by a glass wall that allows for separate climates and programming. Per the website, the Main Taproom has 24 draft lines, including both year-round favorites and rotating small batches. This area is decorated with reclaimed wood, stone, and tile, and includes both bar seating as well as a mix of high- and low-top tables for guests. Also in the Main Taproom is a 21+ lounge, which features ample couch seating and a living moss wall.

The Moxee Room is a bright space lined with glass garage doors that will open as the weather permits. This area features picnic tables, relaxed Adirondack-style seating, and specific kid-friendly areas. Visitors can also bring their pups to the Moxee Room, as long as they are on a leash and well-behaved.

The beer types have yet to be announced, but the website says that both the draft beer and cans-to-go lists will be added to the site soon. Aside from the brews, Skinny Flowers Brewing will also serve food from its RiverWalk Center neighbors, Olive + Oak and Broadway Hot + Honey Chicken.

The Team + Background on Skinny Flowers

The Skinny Flowers Brewery name comes from a lifelong friendship of founders and owners Jim and Liz King.

“It started with a nickname, then grew,” the website reads. “A nickname of a close, life-long friend. A friend that has a strong passion for craft beer and the friend that helped lead me from mass market light beer to my own strong passion for craft beer. There would be no Skinny Flowers Brewing Company without him and his friendship. We have shared many beers together over the last 35 years.”

The name also pays homage to the hops themselves, as hops are skinny flowers that can grow up to 20 feet.

Jim and Liz both have a passion for high-quality craft beer, and turned that passion into a brand-new brewery that will soon make its debut at the Jersey Shore. Jim has Jersey Shore roots, growing up in Ocean County, while Liz hails from Westchester, New York. The pair met while working as executives for large multinational corporations in New York.

Also on the team is Head Brewer Isaac Boucher, who has ten years of professional brewing experience in New England, and Alex Silberstein, an Oceanport resident bringing 12 years of craft beer-focused hospitality experience as the Head of Sales, Hospitality + Customer Relations.

“We started Skinny Flowers Brewing Company to not just share this passion with our community, but more importantly to connect with and serve our community – both inside our taproom and beyond its walls,” the website reads.
