All About Pop’s Corner

A long-time family dream of owning a restaurant and a massive love for a pre-beach breakfast stop inspired the creation of Pop’s Corner. Owner Brian Neiman named the diner after his father-in-law, who is  best known as “Pops.” The diner underwent massive reconstruction and renovation before opening as Pop’s Corner in July 2023. Point Pleasant locals and long-time summertime residents may remember the Point Beach Diner that once occupied the corner spot at the intersection of Route 35 North and Arnold Avenue. The former space is now completely unrecognizable in the best way possible.

What To Expect For Breakfast

Everyone knows that breakfast from a New Jersey diner is an elite experience. There is no other place in the world to enjoy this caliber of greasy (but not the gross kind of greasy), fluffy, and heart-warming deliciousness before hitting your beach chair for the day. Diners may find themselves opting for Pop’s Corner’s pancake breakfast sliders, which include bacon, egg, and cheese between mini silver dollar pancakes or a less embellished pancake or waffle flight. The breakfast nachos platter comes with a generous amount of tortilla chips, nacho cheese sauce, pepper jack cheese, chorizo, scrambled eggs, bacon bits, jalapeños, black beans, tomatoes, onions, chives, sour cream, and chipotle drizzle — which is great to be shared. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Jersey diner without the quintessential pork roll egg and cheese sandwich served on a Kaiser roll. If heavy breakfast food isn’t the vibe, lighter options such as avocado toast or a yogurt parfait are also available on the breakfast menu.

What’s for Lunch?

Lunch at Pop’s Corner begins at 11AM. In true American diner style, the lunch menu features an array of sandwiches, salads, burgers, and wraps. A Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese or a Flipped Out Tuna Melt will surely hit the spot. Pop’s Corner’s house-made chicken pot pie includes a dream-worthy puff pastry cup filled with chicken, carrots, peas, and potatoes. Side options include house-made chips, fries, sweet potato fries, mac ‘n cheese, market vegetables, a side salad, and coleslaw.

Pop’s Corner is Kid-Friendly

Pop’s Corner is a family-based establishment with a kid’s menu that contains the necessary fuel for a day of boogie boarding, body surfing, and sand castle building. For breakfast, eggs are served plain or with cheese and served with home fries and a piece of toast. French toast, waffles, and pancakes are also available. Kid’s lunch options include a hot dog with fries, hamburger or cheeseburger with fries, or chicken bites with fries.

Gluten-Free Friendly Options

Those with a gluten sensitivity or allergy can feel good about eating at Pop’s Corner. Pancakes and waffles can be made gluten-free. A gluten-free bun substitution can be used for burgers and sandwiches. Although gluten-free options are available on the menu, it is always advised to alert servers about a gluten allergy before placing an order.

Drinks + Seasonal Beverage Options

Coffee, soda, and iced tea are all standard beverage options that are available at Pop’s. Hot drinks include hot coffee, espresso, americano, cappuccino, latte, mocha, and tea. Iced cold brew, coffee, latte, mocha, and tea are also available. Seasonal holiday drink specials include a North Pole Hot Chocolate (peppermint syrup, milk, whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, and crushed candy canes), a Gingerbread Latte (hot or iced), or a Peppermint Mocha — to name a few. Peppermint cold foam can be added to any iced drink.

The Pop’s Corner Market Place

Diners can wander over to the adjoining specialty market which features grab-and-go food options, baked goods, gourmet sauces, dressings, spices, olive oils, and small gifts. For those who don’t want to commit to a sit-down breakfast or lunch, the market is a great option to pop into before hitting the beach or while on the go. Point Pleasant High School students can enjoy a discounted lunch special from the market, which includes a hamburger, cheeseburger, flatbread pita, chicken Caesar wrap, or chicken Caesar salad served with fries and a fountain drink for $8.

Parking

Free street parking is available on Arnold Avenue and in the municipal lot on Route 35 South. Metered parking is available across the street at the NJ Transit Train Station.
