The sunsets are happening a little earlier; the mornings are just a bit cooler. Fall is sneaking its way in. It’s been another busy week DTS, and we’ve got all the headlines to get you up to speed. Among the highlights: drive-through coffee chain 7 Brew makes NJ plans; two Asbury Park ducks are returned to their home pond; and a new restaurant specializing in lasagna has opened.

–Surfside Frozen Custard has moved to a new Jersey Shore location in Manasquan (The Jersey Shore Girl).
–Oolala Lasagna and Lili Oceanfront are two new restaurants at the Shore this season (The Jersey Shore Girl).
–Boutique fitness spot TREMBLE is opening a new Old Bridge location in October 2026 (The Jersey Shore Girl).
-And, action. Kevin Hart and Henry Cavill were spotted filming an upcoming Netflix spy comedy in New Jersey, with production taking place in locations including Glen Ridge and Colts Neck (The New Jersey Girl).
–Drive-thru coffee chain 7 Brew is expanding into New Jersey with multiple locations planned across the state, bringing its fast-service coffee, energy drinks, teas, and other beverages to Garden State customers (The New Jersey Girl).
– Best of both worlds. Point Pleasant spot Martell’s Tiki Bar has launched a frozen pumpkin martini, which we think is perfect for this in-between seasonal moment (@martellstikibar via TikTok).
–The New Jersey Turnpike Authority is moving forward with plans for a major Garden State Parkway expansion in Ocean County, with proposed upgrades between Interchanges 80 and 83 heading to a public hearing (Jersey Shore Online).
–An 85-year-old Route 36 bridge in Long Branch is being replaced, bringing lane and road closures that are expected to continue through spring 2027 (News 12 New Jersey).
-Go Birds. In honor of the NFL season kicking off, the Wildwood Ferris Wheel was lit up in green and white for the Eagles (@nbcphiladelphia via TikTok).
–The Toms River Walmart has received approval for a major expansion that will add space and upgrade the store’s operations and customer amenities (Jersey Shore Online).
–Violent crime in New Jersey has continued its long-term decline, with FBI data showing rates well below historical highs (Montclair Patch).
–A new “Food Farmacy” in Long Branch is providing eligible patients with fresh groceries, nutrition education, and other food-based support designed to improve health outcomes (TAPinto Long Branch).
– Wild goose chase. Taco and Churro, two local ducks who usually hang out by Catbird Pizza in Asbury Park, were rescued after being taken away by two mystery kidnappers (@pbalocal6 via Instagram).
–The Berkeley Township Board of Education has extended its superintendent’s contract, keeping the district’s current leadership in place for an additional term (Jersey Shore Online).
-Incredible stuff. A team of rowers completed a journey from Cape May to the Statue of Liberty, traveling up the New Jersey coastline as part of a long-distance endurance effort and fundraiser (Jersey Shore Online).
–Sea.Hear.Now announced a free Asbury Park Kickoff Event at Press Plaza on September 18 (City of Asbury Park).
