Barnegat Branch Trail | 115 Railroad Avenue, Barnegat
Barnegat Branch Trail is 12 miles of pine-canopied, sandy forest that passes through multiple New Jersey towns. The goal of the trail is to ultimately have a continuous 16-mile path for runners who want to go from Toms River to Barnegat Township.
Bradley Beach Boardwalk + Wesley Lake Loop | 60 Ocean Avenue North, Bradley Beach
For this running path, JSG recommends starting at Wesley Lake Loop. Wesley Lake is close to the ocean, with paved trails and a bridge connecting Ocean Grove to Asbury Park. For this route, start at Wesley Lake, run on the paths, view the landscaping and water, and then head onto Bradley Beach’s boardwalk to finish the run.
Brick Reservoir | 811 Herbertsville Road, Brick Township
The Brick Reservoir is a peaceful location for a run. A flat, paved walkway around the reservoir allows runners to explore while viewing the water. Light fixtures illuminate the area for evening runs, and there are other fun touches like the garden and gazebos.
Corson’s Inlet State Park | Bay Avenue, County Highway 619, Ocean City

Thompson Park has trails, which are old farm roads that have also been used as horse exercise tracks. Thompson Park has 14 miles of multiple-use trails for runners, and 4.9 miles have paved paths. After the run, visitors can have fun with one of its amenities like the playground, Creative Arts Center, or picnic facility.
