Almost Home | 282 East Main Street, Oceanport

Almost Home’s Oceanport location offers sit-down dining, takeout, and a coffee counter and baked goods to go. The spring and summer menu features a pistachio matcha made with Nekohama matcha, pistachio milk, pecan extract, and crushed pistachios, as well as a blueberry lemon matcha made with Nekohama matcha, blueberry compote, your choice of milk, and topped with a lemon curd cream. In addition to Oceanport, Almost Home has locations in Westfield, Lincroft, Navesink, Jersey City, and more.

It wouldn’t be a Jersey Shore matcha roundup without mentioning batch. Located on Main Street in Manasquan, batch is a community staple for delicious matcha, coffee, smoothies, and pastries. The cafe serves classic matcha lattes and fun seasonal drinks. The Mamma Mia matcha starts with coconut water and homemade strawberry jam and is topped with a cloud of lightly sweetened matcha cold foam. While you’re waiting for your drink, you can also shop a selection of home and pantry goods sold in the cafe.

Golden Stop | 120 Park Boulevard, Cape May

Golden Stop in Cape May is best known for its delicious brunch menu and fun coffee and matcha flavors. The cozy cafe is great for sitting and enjoying a relaxing breakfast, or you can take your food to go for a morning beach day. The fan-favorite Golden Latte is made with matcha and turmeric plus your choice of milk. Golden Stop offers a wide variety of milk options, including whole, skim, oat, almond, coconut, pistachio, and pumpkin seed milk. Plus, you can add the delicious house-made organic syrups to any matcha, with flavors such as lavender, maple bourbon, brown sugar, vanilla, hazelnut, and more.
Makana’s | 609 Cookman Avenue, Asbury Park

Located in the heart of Asbury Park, Makana’s is a local favorite for nutritious breakfast and lunch, as well as a beloved matcha spot. Owner Jaerene Medeiros was born and raised in Hawaii and infuses the menu with island flavors such as coconut, macadamia, and hibiscus. While you can’t go wrong with the standard matcha latte, we recommend trying one of the specialty creations: the Cookie Girl Matcha (topped with cookie butter cold foam), Strawberry Coco Palma Matcha (strawberry, coconut milk, and coconut cold foam), Oohbaby! Matcha (whole milk and ube syrup), and Mama’s Matcha (vanilla, oat milk, and vanilla cold foam) are some fan favorites.

Maeberrie Market is a breakfast and lunch restaurant with an attached cafe and market. The cafe offers coconut, almond, and oat milk for all of the beverages. If you’re looking to stay for breakfast, we recommend pairing your matcha with the blueberry fluffcakes, which come topped with a blueberry compote and matcha honey butter.

Offshore Coffee Co. is a Shore favorite for coffee, and it also boasts an excellent matcha selection. The classic matcha latte comes hot or iced and is made with A1-grade ceremonial matcha sourced directly from growers and import partners in Japan. You can choose whole, almond, or oat milk as well as fun seasonal flavor options, such as the current orange creamsicle matcha, made with house-made orange vanilla syrup and topped with vanilla cold foam. You can even purchase the matcha powder to make it at home with the online recipe guide. In addition to the Belmar location, Offshore Coffee Co. has locations at Monmouth University, Asbury Park, and Long Branch.
Ocean Brew Co. | 891 W Park Avenue, Ocean Township

While Ocean Brew Co. is best known for its sustainably roasted coffee, locals also love the matcha. Guests can customize their matcha latte by adding cold foam in flavors like vanilla cinnamon, mocha, or caramel, as well as by adding flavored syrup to the matcha itself. Milk options include whole, half + half, skim, oat, almond, coconut, and 2%.
The Perfect Perk Cafe | 300 Main Street, Bradley Beach

The Perfect Perk Cafe in Bradley Beach serves excellent coffee and matcha just blocks from the beach. The matcha latte comes hot or iced with your choice of nonfat, 2%, almond, oat, soy, or coconut milk. It also offers a dirty matcha latte, which comes with a shot of espresso mixed in. In the colder months, treat yourself to the beloved matcha hot chocolate.

Whether you sip al fresco on the patio or enjoy the cozy cafe inside featuring artwork by local artists, Positively 4th Street Cafe invites visitors to relax and stay awhile while they enjoy matcha, coffee, pastries, and breakfast. Matcha lattes are served hot or iced with a wide range of flavors including hazelnut, coconut, peppermint, pistachio, lavender, and more. Guests can choose either hot or iced and either whole, skim, half + half, oat, or almond milk.
Sun + Waves | 1310 3rd Avenue, Spring Lake

Sun + Waves is located in downtown Spring Lake. The matcha lattes are available both hot and iced, in addition to specialty matcha drinks. Right now, one of those speciality drinks is the Matcha Cloud for summer, which is made with iced coconut water topped with creamy honey vanilla matcha cold foam.
