JSG compiled a list of our favorite diners close to those beloved beach towns so that you can get a taste of comfort before or after a day spent under the sun. Americana Diner | 1160 NJ-35, Shrewsbury
Americana Diner, located in Shrewsbury, is a Monmouth County staple. It has over a hundred options, making it a good stop for a large group with different food cravings. Americana Diner has weekly lunch and dinner specials, giving a fresh experience each time dining here. JSG’s menu picks: Any of its ‘fluffy’ omelets (which are all made with three eggs) and/or fruit pancakes, filled with a choice of strawberry, blueberry, cherry, or apple.
Asbury Lanes Diner | 209 4th Avenue, Asbury Park
Asbury Lanes Diner is attached to Asbury Lanes, the boutique bowling alley in Asbury Park, located just steps away from the boardwalk. Asbury Lanes Diner has a more curated menu than a traditional diner, and it has twists on classic plates like its Cap n’ Crunch french toast. It has a trendy retro aesthetic, with beer on tap and draft wine options. JSG’s menu pick: The boozy shakes are a must-try, and we love the Let Them Eat Cake (vanilla, funfetti cake, sprinkles + vanilla vodka).

Blue Swan Diner | 2116 NJ-35, Oakhurst
Blue Swan Diner is a family-owned spot that opened in Oakhurst in 1974. A stand-out feature of Black Swan Diner includes its Kids Night Out events, which allow families to dine and enjoy visits from different characters. JSG’s menu pick: The build-your-own burger and pizza fries.
Broad Street Diner | 83 Broad Street, Keyport

Broad Street Diner is a retro-style diner in Keyport. Its fun aesthetic gives off all the necessary vibes for a Jersey diner experience. Broad Street Diner serves breakfast all day; for those who like benedicts, there are plenty of options. JSG’s menu pick: The Jersey Shore Fried Combo has all kinds of fish, fried sides (like onion rings), coleslaw, and a biscuit.
Corner Post Diner | 2791 Hooper Avenue, Brick Township
The Corner Post Diner has been serving Brick for 30 years. Highlights of the Corner Post Diner include early bird specials, a gluten-sensitive section of the menu, and a large selection of breakfast all-day options, + it has a BYOB policy. JSG’s menu pick: The Waffle Sunday (which comes with ice cream, maple syrup + whipped cream).
Danny’s Place | 2104 Sunset Avenue, Ocean Township
Danny’s Place is a ma and pa restaurant in Ocean Township. Danny’s location is cozy, and its menu contains all the diner classics that feel like an old-school luncheonette. JSG’s menu pick: The chicken or egg salad.
Dino’s Seaville Diner | 31 NJ-50, Ocean View
Dino’s is a Cape May County diner serving homemade meals since 1977. Its menu has what feels like endless options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. JSG’s menu pick: One of its charbroiled steaks with the soup of the day.
Doo Wop Diner | 4010 Boardwalk, Wildwood
Doo Wop Diner is in the heart of Wildwood, right on the boardwalk across from the Wildwheels Pier. Doo Wop is a 1950s-style diner serving American classics like burgers, milkshakes + malts, and ¼ lb foot-long hot dogs. JSG’s menu pick: Oreo pancakes for breakfast. If hungry, try The Chubby Challenge, which must be completed solo in 30 minutes to receive the free t-shirt. FYI: Doo Wop Diner check its website for information on its opening date for the summer season.
Four Seasons Diner | 823 Fischer Boulevard, Toms River

Four Seasons Diner opened in Toms River in 2008. The Four Seasons’ name conveys that its menu is as diverse as the changing seasons. The breakfast menu includes numerous skillet options, and the lunch and dinner section has upscale Italian entrees. Four Seasons is the only diner on the Jersey Shore that houses a full-sized brick oven, so the pizza is a must-try. JSG’s (other) menu pick: The deep-fried cheesecake, which is big enough to share.
Flight Deck Diner | 295 Terminal Drive, Rio Grande
Flight Deck Diner is in Cape May’s airport. Flight Deck Diner opened in 2010 and is a cute spot for anyone looking to dine with locals, tourists, and pilots from all over the USA. The diner is open from 7:30AM to 2PM, focusing explicitly on breakfast and lunch. JSG’s menu pick: The cornflake-coated crispy French toast.
Frank’s Deli | 1406 Main Street, Asbury Park
Frank’s Deli + Restaurant is a cash-only cozy luncheonette that gives diner vibes in Asbury Park. A staple to the Jersey Shore since 1960, Frank’s has a full breakfast menu, soups, sandwiches, salads, and Greek, Italian, and Mexican plate options. JSG’s menu pick: An overstuffed club, specifically its roast or corned beef or its pastrami, all of which are local favorites.
John + Elaine’s Restaurant | 1103 Richmond Avenue, Point Pleasant
John + Elaine’s Restaurant is a family-owned diner in Point Pleasant. John + Elaine’s closes at 2PM, so it’s a good spot for breakfast or lunch. John + Elaine’s is cash only and has served the Jersey Shore for over 45 years. JSG’s menu pick: Eggs Benedict.
Mariner’s Cove Restaurant | 712 Union Avenue, Brielle
Mariner’s Cove Restaurant in Brielle is a haven for breakfast and brunch lovers. It is beloved for its omelets primarily because of the large cheese selection and its wide variety of themed omelets with differing toppings. JSG’s menu pick: The jalapeno popper omelet.
Marlboro Diner | 143 US-9, Manalapan Township
Marlboro Diner is a Manalapan Township classic diner. It has daily chef specials, diner staples, and modern twists on traditional plates. The menu spans everything from light smoothies, yogurts, oats + salads, waffles + pancakes, fry baskets, and dinner entrees. JSG’s menu pick: The loaded latkes.
New Monmouth Diner | 1887 NJ-35, Middletown Township
New Monmouth Diner is a 1950s-style eatery with a menu filled with American favorites; it has served Middletown since 1969. The aesthetic of the diner is fun, with memorabilia featuring icons like Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, and James Dean. New Monmouth Diner also hosts car shows; it has a kids’ night on the second Tuesday of every month. A fun feature of the diner is that it offers oatmeal, grits, or home fries as a choice of side. JSG’s menu pick: The morning quesadilla.
OB Diner | 1519 Richmond Avenue, Point Pleasant
The OB Diner is a local favorite in Point Pleasant. Although currently closed for renovations, OB reopens in time for summer. It has plenty of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. JSG’s menu pick: One of its deluxe jumbo burgers.
Princess Maria Diner | 2044 NJ-35, Wall Township
Princess Maria Diner is a family-owned diner in Wall. Princess Maria opened its doors in 1999 and has since become a go-to spot for those visiting Spring Lake or Belmar. For anyone who loves a good sandwich, the menu has endless options like various wraps, steak sandwiches, paninis, hot pitas, and hot/cold sandwiches. JSG’s menu pick is either the homemade macaroni and cheese or a grilled cheese sandwich option.
Rainbow Diner | 849 NJ-70, Brick Township

Rainbow Diner serves home-style favorites in Brick. Rainbow Diner has a sauté, breakfast, and lunch specials section of its menu. JSG’s menu picks include any of its sweet treats, which are all made in-house, but we especially love homemade bread pudding.
Roberto’s Freehold Grill | 59 East Main Street, Freehold
Roberto’s Freehold Grill is a cash-only dinner that is open for breakfast and lunch. It is open from 7:30AM until 2:30PM. FYI: Bruce Springsteen frequents Roberto’s, so keep an eye out if you are visiting. JSG’s menu pick: The fried Oreo pancakes.
Robin’s Nest | 506 Main Street, Belmar
Robin’s Nest is a casual cafe with a diner feel in Belmar. Robin’s is open daily from 6AM until 3PM, so it specializes in breakfast and lunch food. However, on Wednesdays and Fridays, it opens back up for business at 6PM for its special dinner menu and live music night, which ends at 9:00PM. JSG’s menu pick: Any of its gyro specialties are a must-have.
Sand Castle Diner | 634 Atlantic City Boulevard, Beachwood
Sand Castle Diner opened its doors in Beachwood in 1988. The menu feels like a traditional diner, with endless breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert options. Sand Castle Diner has all the American comfort foods, Greek eats, and a south-of-the-border section. JSG’s menu pick: We hear locals love the burgers at Sand Castle Diner.
Shore Diner | 6710 Tilton Road, Egg Harbor Township
Shore Diner has been an Egg Harbor Township tradition since 1992. Shore Diner has a wide variety of food options like salads, clubs, seafood, and appetizers. JSG’s menu pick: Any item from the espresso section, especially the French vanilla latte.
Sides Diner + Grill | 680 Broadway, Long Branch
Sides Diner + Grill is in Long Branch. The cozy diner has over 30 breakfast specials, and everything is freshly made, like its orange juice, squeezed on-premise. A true Jersey eatery, the vegetables at Sides are locally sourced, and Lacas provides the coffee. JSG’s menu pick: The spinach pie with Greek salad and grilled pita.
Stafford Diner | 1388 NJ-72, Manahawkin
Stafford Diner is a Route 72 Manahawkin family-style restaurant. Stafford’s menu highlights include a breakfast anytime, a Mexican grill, and Greek + Italian cuisine sections. JSG’s menu pick: Stafford’s baked focaccia bread with french fries, coleslaw + a pickle.
Sunset Diner | 3315 Sunset Avenue, Ocean Township
Sunset Diner is located in Wanamassa, just a short drive from Asbury Park. Sunset Diner opened in 2000 and has menu highlights like its hot dog corner and croissant melts. JSG’s menu pick: The breakfast stuffed potato skins with scrambled eggs, melted mozzarella, and cheddar cheese.
The Forked River Diner | 317 South Main Street, Forked River
The Forked River Diner is a cash-only, low-key spot with counter and booth seating that resembles a traditional diner. It opens early at 5AM and closes at 3PM, so take advantage of its early hours. The Forked River Diner has been family-owned and run since 1984, and it has homemade soups made fresh daily. JSG’s menu pick: The pork roll sandwich.
The Roadside Diner | 5016 NJ-33, Wall Township
The Roadside Diner serves classic diner meals in Wall Township. The Roadside Diner is an authentic old-school diner experience set inside a former 1930s railroad dining car.The Roadside Diner went under new ownership in March of 2025 after 27 years of serving under the same family ownership. IYKYK: Bon Jovi‘s album cover for Crossroads was shot inside the diner. JSG’s menu pick: Keep it classic with the pancakes or french toast.
