Another new restaurant is headed to the Jersey Shore, and it’s replacing an old favorite. Agave, a steakhouse blending Mexican and Italian cuisine, will be coming to the former space of C.B. Huntington’s at 140 + 150 Atlantic City Boulevard in Bayville, New Jersey. C.B. Huntington’s, a diner that featured model trains on the ceiling, became a local favorite for birthdays and other events, but closed years ago. Agave’s remodeling of the space is underway and it is expected to open in February 2027. Keep reading to learn about Agave, a new restaurant in Bayville, New Jersey.

The History

For years, C.B. Huntington’s operated as a neighborhood favorite restaurant in Bayville. It was known for its unique interior setup, featuring model trains that moved across the restaurant, near the ceiling. It became a destination for birthdays, family dinners and trips, especially with Blackbeard’s Cave, a family amusement park, nearby. Blackbeard’s Cave was known for a wide range of attractions, including a go-kart track, bumper boats, a 20-hole mini-golf course, driving range, archery range, and more.

C.B. Huntington’s closed by 2018 and was replaced by Bill’s BBQ Shack, which was run by the daughter of one of Blackbeard’s Cave’s original owners alongside her husband. Eventually, Blackbeard’s closed by 2019, and Bill’s BBQ Shack closed by 2022, leaving the site of the former community favorites abandoned.

About Agave

Agave, a new steakhouse concept blending Mexican and Italian food, will now be taking over the space. It has been in development since 2025, proposed as a 270-seat restaurant with 97 parking spaces. The plan is to retain the original C.B. Huntington’s building with ADA improvements and other updates. It will not repurpose the former site of Blackbeard’s Cave or any of the surrounding properties in the area.

The restaurant’s ownership expects to open by February 2027, and plans to have a liquor license. Exact details on the restaurant’s opening plans and hours have not yet been revealed, but The Jersey Shore Girl will update this piece with more information as it is received.
