It’s been another busy week at the Jersey Shore, and we’ve got all the headlines to get you up to speed. Among the highlights: the 10th Annual Asbury Park Porchfest will return in September; two Bravolebrities were spotted DTS; and the National Weather Service confirmed a tornado during last week’s storms.

– The Indie Street Film Festival will return to Red Bank from August 17th through August 23rd with more than 50 films, industry discussions, and appearances by actors and filmmakers (The Jersey Shore Girl).
– Say om. The first-ever Jersey Shore Yoga Festival is set for October 4th in Red Bank (The Jersey Shore Girl).
– Mapping our route. Asbury Park Porchfest is back on September 26th, with free performances on porches throughout town (The Jersey Shore Girl).
– We have mixed feelings. Bravolebrities West Wilson and Amanda Batula were spotted at the Jersey Shore visiting several local bars (The Jersey Shore Girl).
– Two New Jersey beaches were placed under swimming advisories after water samples showed bacteria levels above the state’s safety standard (Asbury Park Press).
– The Wildwood Wawa that has been renovated in a Doo-Wop style has reopened (reader tip).
– An Ocean County Sheriff’s Office drone dropped a self-inflating flotation device to a young swimmer caught in a Surf City rip current, helping keep her afloat until rescuers reached her (News 12 New Jersey).
– Two icons. Bruce Springsteen joined Jon Bon Jovi during his recent performance at Madison Square Garden (The New Jersey Girl via Instagram).
– A 9-year-old girl and 7-year-old boy died after the boat they were riding in struck a channel marker in Barnegat Bay and threw them into the water (News 12 New Jersey).
– Makana’s in Asbury Park celebrated its two-year anniversary (@Makanas via Instagram).
– We’re number one. Hotel Albatross in Ocean Grove was named one of the top hotels in the world by Travel + Leisure magazine, and ranked as the #1 Inn in the Continental US (Travel + Leisure).
– Funky stuff. NJ native George Clinton is one of several creatives who will be honored by Monmouth Arts at the PNC Bank Arts Center at its Bring on the Funk gala in Asbury Park on October 29th (Asbury Park Press).
– A 26-year-old man died, and three other passengers were injured after a boat struck a channel marker in Barnegat Bay’s Intracoastal Waterway in Toms River (Jersey Shore Online).
– Cape May was named as one of the nation’s top birding spots (Asbury Park Press).
– The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado formed during a storm on July 21st, touching down at Cape May Point (Wildwood Video Archive).
– Dink responsibly. A new, 135,000-square-foot indoor athletic facility, the Superdome Sports Complex, opened in Brick, with indoor turf, basketball, volleyball, and pickleball facilities (Jersey Shore Online).
– One Ortley Beach homeowner takes Christmas in July to the next level, decorating the home with dozens of decorations plus music and food trucks (Yahoo! News).
– Say cheese, Ozzy! A new Asbury Park exhibition features more than 50 photographs taken by Mark Weiss documenting Ozzy Osbourne’s career from an early 1981 photo shoot through his final Black Sabbath performance in 2025 (Asbury Park Press).
