It’s been another busy week at the Jersey Shore, and we’ve got all the headlines to keep you up to speed. Among the highlights: a new dirty soda shop opened in Bradley Beach; a traffic proposal would see changes to Route 35; and one of the last free beaches considers adding beach tags.

– Shaken, not stirred. Bev Shack opened at 801 Main Street in Bradley Beach, serving dirty sodas, lemonades, iced teas, energy drinks, and other specialty beverages (The Jersey Shore Girl).
– You can’t park there. An NJDOT proposal would bring two-way traffic and reverse-angle parking to portions of Route 35 in Ortley Beach and Lavallette (The Jersey Shore Girl).
– Low Tide Smoothie Co. opened its second location at 3626 Route 35 North in Normandy Beach, serving smoothies, coffee, revivers, and other specialty drinks daily (The Jersey Shore Girl).
– New Jersey has reported between 31 and 80 cases of the intestinal illness cyclosporiasis, though state health officials say the numbers reflect normal seasonal activity rather than a known outbreak (The Hoboken Girl).
– One scoop or two? Ice cream shop Coop’s Cones opened in Belford (@coopscones via Instagram).
– Jersey Shore resident Paula Moudatsos is competing for the Miss Teen New Jersey crown while promoting mental health awareness and youth confidence (Jersey Shore Online).
– Funeral services have been announced for Ocean County doctor Gabriele Jasper, his daughter Gabriella Hillgrube, and his 2-year-old granddaughter Giuliana Hillgrube after the family was killed in an upstate New York plane crash (Jersey Shore Online).
– Spring Lake community members completed over 300 acts of service as part of the Blue Dot community event (@blue_dot_community via Instagram).
– Tie it down. On Thursday, July 16th, A severe storm brought hail, flooding, and wind gusts reaching 75 mph to the Jersey Shore as a tornado warning was issued for parts of Ocean County (NJ.com).
– Breathe deep. The Jersey Shore Yoga Festival was announced for October 4th, 2026 (@jerseyshoreyogafestival via Instagram).
– He’s in the mix. Bravo star Carl Radke was spotted filming in Ocean Grove (@realitea_recap via Instagram).
– Maple Leaf Menace? A Canadian woman may be deported after a video allegedly showed her slapping a teenager who was wearing patriotic clothing at Point Pleasant Beach (NJ.com).
– Classic train convos. This conversation about Jersey Shore bars overheard on NJ Transit is one we’ve all had at least 15 times (@monhru via TikTok).
– A Sea Isle City swimmer died at the hospital after first responders pulled him from the ocean and performed lifesaving measures (NBC10 Philadelphia).
– For the dogs. Doggie Sweets, a mobile business selling pup cups, has launched The Scoop, a catering option for private parties + beach days (@DoggieSweets via Instagram)
– Say it ain’t so! Strathmere Beach may no longer be free, as local leaders consider beach tags + fees to pay for lifeguards and other beach-related expenses (New Jersey 101.5).
– Local hero. Three swimmers were rescued by a bystander at Stone Harbor Beach (NBC10 Philadelphia).
