From casual go-tos to more elevated dining experiences, we rounded up some of the best sushi spots from Monmouth County all the way down to Cape May. Atlantic Offshore Fishery | 212 Channel Drive, Point Pleasant Beach

Sourcing seafood straight from the docks of Point Pleasant Beach, Atlantic Offshore Fishery (AOF) is about as fresh as it gets. The sushi menu balances specialty rolls, like the Sexy Lobster Roll (spicy lobster crunch, red onion, cucumber, avocado, mango, topped with tuna sashimi, spicy miso, and eel sauce), with even more creative offerings, like the Sushi Pizza, layered with spicy kani, tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and avocado. It is open daily from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Izu Sushi | 31 Montgomery Avenue, Long Branch
Izu Sushi is A go-to in Long Branch for both dine-in and takeout. Izo Sushi keeps things classic with a wide range of rolls, sashimi, and combination platters. Expect generous portions and a menu that covers everything from simple avocado rolls to specialty options piled high with tuna and salmon.

Kobe Sushi and Hibachi | 1077 State Route 34, Aberdeen
Kobe is a hibachi spot that also delivers when it comes to sushi. This BYOB spot offers both dine-in and delivery, with a full menu of specialty rolls and fresh sashimi. Pro tip: sushi is half-priced on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, making it an easy midweek go-to.
Kuro Sushi | 1000 Boardwalk, Atlantic City
Kuro is tucked inside the Hard Rock Hotel on the AC boardwalk and is the spot for an upscale sushi night. The menu goes beyond the classics with Japanese fusion dishes (yes, including their viral lobster dumplings), all served in a sleek, high-energy space. In addition to the regular menu served Wednesday–Sunday, Kuro also hosts a weekly “Taste of Kuro” every Thursday, a $65 five-course tasting curated by Chef Leslie.
Mirai Hibachi and Sushi | 2621 Bridge Avenue, Point Pleasant
Mirai combines hibachi and sushi in one spot, making it a great option for group outings. The sushi menu features both classic rolls and more creative combinations. For all the spice-lovers out there, we recommend the Kiss of Fire Roll (Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon, Spicy White Tuna & Crunch Topped w. Salmon, Tuna, Yellowtail, Jalapeno & Hot Sauce). It is open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Nemo | 27 W Front Street, Keyport
Nemo is a family-run neighborhood favorite that keeps things approachable with a large menu of classic and specialty rolls, plus plenty of takeout options. During warmer months, you can enjoy fresh sushi on the waterfront deck, making it an easy pick for a laid-back summer night.
Rainbow | 6418 Ventnor Avenue, Ventnor City
If every shore town has that go-to sushi spot, for Ventnor residents, it has to be Rainbow. With an extensive menu of both classic and specialty rolls, it’s easy to mix and match, with customer favorites including the spicy crabmeat and mango shrimp rolls.
Rice Asian Cuisine | 718 Cookman Avenue, Asbury Park
Rice Asian Cuisine brings a little bit of everything to the table, with a menu spanning Japanese, Chinese, and Thai favorites. It’s a versatile option in Asbury Park, meaning everyone in your group can find something they are excited to order. The vibe is casual but reliable, making it a solid pick for both takeout and low-key dinners.
Sogo Sushi | 60 Monmouth Street, Red Bank
A long-time local favorite of the Red Bank community, Sogo Sushi is known for its brown rice rolls and rotating chef specials. Current highlights include the Tropical Roll, featuring spicy salmon, mango, jalapeño, and cilantro, topped with salmon, avocado, lime juice, and sweet chili. Open for lunch and dinner Monday–Saturday (hours vary), closed Sunday.
Sushi Ocean View | 556 Sea Isle Boulevard, Ocean View
The Romantic Roll is a must-order here, pairing spicy crab, mango, and caviar in one sweet-savory bite. Just outside Sea Isle, Sushi Ocean View offers a reliable mix of fresh sushi, classic rolls, and crowd-pleasing favorites, perfect for dine-in or takeout after a beach day.
Taka | 660 Cookman Avenue, Asbury Park
If you’re in the mood for sushi and a scene, Taka delivers. This stylish restaurant, bar, and lounge pairs standout rolls with a strong cocktail game, making it an easy pick for a more elevated night out in Asbury Park. There are also plenty of vegetarian and vegan options to choose from.
Xina | 3430 NJ-37, Toms River + 415 Main Street, Bradley Beach
Xina has been doing sushi and Asian fusion right in Toms River since 2012, and now has a Bradley Beach location to match. The menu is packed with creative rolls, but we’re already eyeing the shrimp and scallop toast, Xina’s take on classic Chinese shrimp toast. Xina strikes the balance between a casual and elevated dining spot, open daily from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Yozu | 3845 Bayshore Road, North Cape May
Fresh fish and a well-rounded menu make Yozu an easy crowd-pleaser in Cape May. With sushi, hibachi, and plenty of options for non-sushi eaters, it’s a great fit for large groups and family vacations down the shore.
Yumi | 120 E Ocean Avenue, Sea Bright + 9 Broad Street, Red Bank
Yumi Sushi is firmly in our summer rotation, with locations in Sea Bright and Red Bank. The expansive menu and rotating specials mean there’s always something new to order, especially for a casual, BYOB night. Yumi is open Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 AM to 8:45 PM, with extended hours Friday and Saturday until 9:45 PM. The restaurant is closed on Mondays.
Zeng Sushi and Hibachi | 812 NE Central Avenue, Seaside Park
Zeng is serving up fresh sushi, sashimi, and hibachi for dine-in or takeout. We can’t stop thinking about the sushi sandwich, stacked with tuna, salmon, avocado, crunchy flakes, and spicy mayo, all wrapped in pink soy paper.
