Vienna barber Andrew Cahill will offer free haircuts for veterans on the first Saturday of every month, starting on May 2nd. Operation Clean Cut will take place at the Blue Ribbon Barbershop, located at 139 Church Street NW in Vienna. The Fairfax Girl chatted with Andrew about the program and what he wants for the future. Operation Clean Cut
Andrew Cahill is a former Marine who served on active duty from 2012 to 2016. He and his wife, Crystal, moved to Northern Virginia in the fall of 2025, and they are both barbers at Blue Ribbon Barbershop in Vienna. Blue Ribbon Barbershop is a traditional American barbershop that specializes in short styles, beard trims, and shaves.

“I’ve been barbering since 2022. I chose haircuts as a way to give back because it’s something I can personally give that has an immediate impact,” Andrew said. “A haircut restores confidence, dignity, and gives someone a sense of normalcy. I wanted to let veterans know that they’re not forgotten.
Andrew said that this Saturday’s event will be the first of what he hopes to be a greater effort. “I’m really trying to start a movement,” he said. I want to help disabled, homeless veterans, any veteran who is in need.” Eventually, he wants to create a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and partner with other groups helping veterans.

Andrew said that the best way neighbors can help is to get the word out. “I just want to reach as many people as possible,” he said.
Will Armstrong, co-owner of the shop, is in full support of Andrew’s efforts. “I think he’s going to be busier than he expects,” he said, smiling.

Haircuts are free, but appointments are suggested. Andrew will be cutting hair from 9AM to 4PM on Saturday May 2nd at Blue Ribbon Barbershop at 139 Church Street NW in Vienna.
