We’re always game for a day at the vineyards, and there’s something about enjoying a crisp glass of Virginia wine when there’s a chill in the air. Several Northern Virginia vineyards have fire pits, heated seating, seasonal menus, and more to make the fall season even cozier. Read on for some of the best Northern Virginia vineyards to visit during the fall.
Bluemont Vineyard | 18755 Foggy Bottom Road, Bluemont

It is hard to beat Bluemont Vineyard when fall foliage is the priority. The tasting room sits 951 feet above sea level on the first ridge of the Blue Ridge Mountains, giving visitors panoramic views across the Loudoun Valley, neighboring orchards, vineyards, and countryside. As the leaves change, the already-impressive view gets a distinctly autumn upgrade. The winery has also leaned into cozy weather with fire pit tables and seasonal fireside experiences in past colder-weather seasons.
Breaux Vineyards | 36888 Breaux Vineyards Lane, Purcellville

Breaux Vineyards sits on a sprawling estate in western Loudoun County, surrounded by vines, rolling hills, and mountain views that get especially colorful during October. There is plenty of outdoor space for sipping wine, making it a good option for visitors who want to take advantage of cooler temperatures and peak foliage.
Fall is also one of the busiest times of year here. Breaux’s 2026 calendar includes its Harvest Festival on October 24th and 25th, plus Vines + Views hikes, live music, and Loudoun’s Fall Farm Tour. October also happens to be Virginia Wine Month, giving visitors another excuse to make the trip.

Cana Vineyards + Winery of Middleburg | 38600 Little River Turnpike, Middleburg

Cana’s hilltop property stretches across 43 acres in Loudoun County and looks out toward the Blue Ridge and Bull Run mountains. Visitors can choose from outdoor seating on the hillside, deck, covered porch, or Sunset Pavilion while sampling wines from the award-winning vineyard.
The winery’s Annual Harvest Festival takes place October 10th, 2026, celebrating local agriculture, artisans, and the fall harvest. Cana also has live music throughout September and October, plus the Black Oak Café for pizza, charcuterie, espresso drinks, and gelato. Cana is also known for its outdoor fire pits, Solo Stoves, patio heaters, and stone fireplace in the Sunset Pavilion for cozier fall days.
Greenhill Vineyards | 23595 Winery Lane, Middleburg

Greenhill Vineyards combines Virginia Hunt Country scenery with an adults-only tasting experience. The Middleburg vineyard has a tasting room, covered terrace, lawn seating, and views of the surrounding countryside, making it an especially pretty stop once the trees begin changing.
Greenhill has also historically offered both stone and propane-fueled fire pits and outdoor heaters during cooler weather. Guests can pair the winery’s 100-percent Virginia wines with selections from its Mezze Menu, including cheeses, charcuterie, freshly baked bread, and other small bites. The entire property is for guests ages 21+.
Stone Tower Winery | 19925 Hogback Mountain Road, Leesburg

Stone Tower’s more than 200-acre estate sits atop Hogback Mountain, meaning fall comes with rolling vineyard views and plenty of countryside scenery. Visitors can grab wine and food and settle into one of the estate’s indoor or outdoor spaces, with covered pergolas also available to reserve near the family-friendly Harvest Barn.
For anyone looking to make more of a day out of the visit, the winery offers several fall experiences. Its Estate Experience includes a golf cart tour through the vineyards, a walk through the winery and barrel chai, a premium wine tasting, and a four-course lunch. Cellar tours and other guided tastings are also scheduled throughout September and October 2026.

Two Twisted Posts Winery | 12944 Harpers Ferry Road, Purcellville
Two Twisted Posts is tucked into western Loudoun County near Short Hill Mountain and has the relaxed atmosphere that works particularly well on a crisp fall afternoon. Guests can sip wine overlooking the vineyard, and live music takes place every weekend, with the winery staying open later on the third Friday of each month.
This one is particularly cozy once temperatures dip. Two Twisted Posts has been known for several outdoor fire pits, smaller individual fire pits, a large stone fireplace area, and heated spaces during colder weather. Fall programming in 2026 also includes the Ghostly Grapes 5K + 10K Trail Run/Walk on October 25th, which winds through the property before ending with wine.
The Winery at Bull Run | 15950 Lee Highway, Centreville

The Winery at Bull Run is one of the easiest wine-country escapes for anyone staying closer to Fairfax County. The historic farm winery has large lawn and patio areas and is next to Manassas National Battlefield Park, providing plenty of fall scenery without requiring a trip deep into western Loudoun.
The winery is going particularly big for autumn in 2026. Its Fall Festival on October 2nd includes fire pits, food trucks, live music, s’mores, and specialty drinks including mulled wine and its Apple Cidonnay. The annual Bull Run Wine Festival is also scheduled for September 26th and 27th.
Potomac Point Winery + Vineyard | 275 Decatur Road, Stafford

For a fall wine outing that feels a little more like a getaway, Potomac Point pairs a Tuscan-inspired estate with vineyard views, a full-service bistro, and a packed seasonal calendar. The winery hosts Friday night live music and switches over to its fall bistro menu in September.
The property’s heated private wine tents return October 22nd, 2026. The tents overlook the vines and seat groups of four to 12, with dedicated food and wine service during the reservation. Potomac Point also hosts seasonal experiences like fireside sipping, making it a good choice once Northern Virginia evenings start getting chilly.
