A Former Tractor Showroom Is Now an Antiquing Destination in Warrenton

A former tractor showroom in Warrenton is now one of Northern Virginia’s best spots for an afternoon of antiquing and treasure hunting. Fox Den Antique Mall is located at 365 W. Shirley Avenue, and just on the other side of the building, Vintage 29 is located at 365 W. Shirley Avenue. These two spots make for a fun outing, looking for whatever it may be to complete your home decor. Read on for more about these two antique stores in Warrenton.

Fox Den Antique Mall

Dozens of vendors make up the roster at Fox Den Antique Mall. Fox Den originally opened in 1984, and moved to its current location in 1994. The space is about 8,000 square feet, neatly divided into smaller sections that house its dozens of vendors. Most of the items are true antiques: the most modern items we saw were some toys and games from the 1980s.

Store manager Donna Frazier told us that shoppers can find a little bit of everything at the store. “We’ve seen everything come through here,” she said. “Anything from items from the 1700s or Civil War relics to furniture and paintings,” Donna said that one of the most common things she hears from visitors is how surprised they are at the size. “People are always shocked; they say, it keeps on going!’” she said. “We’re also lucky because we have the outdoor space, which is a draw.”

Donna told us that the building was previously a tractor service and supply building, which explains the high ceilings. “We try to incorporate the historical elements of the building,” she said. “The big garage doors can open, and you can see where the old fixtures used to be.”

The store has special events throughout the year, including shopping events for the holidays. A new addition Donna is excited about is the small general store area in the store, called Vintage Magnolia. “It’s stocked with all locally made items,” she said. We picked up some local jam and salsa.

Fox Den Antique Mall is open seven days a week, Monday through Saturday from 10AM to 6PM, and Sunday from 12PM to 6PM.

Vintage 29

Just next door is Vintage 29, which opened in 2024. The two owners, Lyle Bowers and Jolie Carroll, met while working at Fox Den Antiques. When the space opened up, they jumped to take over the space.  There are about 40 rotating vendors in the space, which is approximately 6,000 square feet.

Vendors here offer a mix of antiques, curated items, and one-of-a-kind items. Some of the items we saw on our visit were oversized artwork, vintage clothes, midcentury modern glassware, and other fun knick-knacks. We also saw some vendors offering customized clothing and other one-of-a-kind pieces.
