While Mother’s Day has traditionally been celebrated strictly for mothers, we love the modern trend of including our female family members, friends, and mentors in the celebrations. This year, Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 10th, and many Northern Virginia businesses are hosting special events to make special memories with mom or your special honoree. This women-oriented event features four keynote speakers who share their stories and offer advice on motherhood, careers, and how they balanced it all. There will be a buffet brunch, a panel discussion, a Q&A, and a marketplace filled with mom-owned and women-owned brands.
Mother’s Day Lift Your Littles Workshop | 11501 Sunset Hills Road, Suite 100, Reston

This workshop is open to kids and adults, paired with their parent or mother figure. This beginner-friendly workshop will teach participants acro poses and basic aerial partner poses on an aerial silk apparatus.
Mother’s Day Flower Workshop at Morais Vineyard | 9249 Center Street, Manassas

This hands-on workshop is paired with a glass of wine while creating flower arrangements. The ticket includes one glass of wine while crafting, a full bottle of wine, and all materials required to create the arrangement.
Mommy & Me Tea Party at Social Soiree | 8270 Shoppers Square, Manassas

This event is designed for moms and their children. There will be a tea service, delicious sweet treats, music, and games for the kids. There will be a photo opportunity. This event is perfect for mothers and their sons or daughters to spend time with each other.
Sip & Stem: Generations in Bloom: A Mother’s Day Floral Evening | 730 North Saint Asaph Street, Alexandria
Thursday, May 7th, 7 PM – 8:30 PM
This event will have wine, mocktails, and food offered while creating the ideal bouquet. Included in this step-by-step guided workshop is the arrangement in a vase for you to take home, including flower food and care instructions, an appetizer tasting, and a handcrafted mocktail or a glass of wine.

This workshop will have duos creating a chocolate sculpture, decorated with personalized chocolate pieces. Each group will be able to take their creation home in the provided packaging. There is no skill level to this event, and due to limited seats, advanced reservations are required.
